Good choice by Sky to cover Glamorgan v Yorkshire. The west does tend to have more rain than anywhere else. After an inspection at 14.30. it's called off for the day. Tomorrow's better, but the weekend less so.

A strange sequence of Yorkshire batsmen getting out in the nervous nineties. Last week, Gary Ballance was out on 96 after being run out. Ex-Yorkshire opener Alex Lees made 99 for Durham, & today joe Root matched that with 99 against Glamorgan.

Chris Rushworth has today become Durham's leading first-class wicket taker, passing Graham Onions. He has 528 dismissals.

A bad day for the Brown-hatters, the Surrey Strutters had a quite spectacular collapse. After being put in on a green looking pitch, overcast conditions, Middlesex skipper Peter Handscomb looked like he got it wrong with Burns & Stoneman advancing to 135 before they lost 6 wickets for 7 runs with a mixture of indifferent umpiring good bowling & circumspect batting.
A slight concern is that 3 of Surrey's finest will line-up for England in the Tests. Burns has been solid all year without a big score, similar to the majority of his International career. England discard Stoneman looked must more fluent. Both Pope & Foakes recorded ducks, Pope needs to get his Test average of around 30, closer to his First-Class record which is 50+. It will be interesting to see how Foakes fairs with the bat, he will be playing his first Test in England, but will more than likely be just filling in before Buttler returns against India.
