West Indies are unchanged, England give debuts to Fisher & Mahmood, could they be the new Trueman & Statham ? We will have to wait as Woakes will be given another chance to redeem himself & make better use of the new ball. Mahmood was expected to replace the injured Wood, Overton is unwell which has given Fisher a chance. I assume that Robinson is still struggling with his back.

I've never heard of Fisher, so I've had to look him up.

I see he's a Yorkshire seamer, so I now understand your new Trueman and Stantham link, seeing as Mahmood plays for Lancashire.

After the toothless bowling performance in the last test any changes are welcome. Smile

After his century Crawley did what I expect him to do quite often in his role as an opener, playing a loose shot, making a 7 ball duck. In contrast, Lees tries to out Sibley, Sibley, in a mainly shotless innings, making 16 from 93 balls, with just 2 boundaries. In his defense, which he did well (defend) Roach hung the ball wide & he wasn't tempted. At the other end Root made 31 from 81 balls with 4 fours, a sign that it's maybe not easy to score, the bowling was tight, with very little to hit, but not that threatening. This is one man, trying to work out Test cricket after 2 failures in his first Test, with some pundits unfairly citing him as an lbw candidate before his Test debut, & claiming that they had proof after being dismissed in just that manner in both innings, & another in Root trying to stop the kind of collapse that has become the norm by batting at 3, when he has just had one of the greatest years by any batsmen in his preferred number 4 position.

Another big century from Root, & a commanding aggressive ton from Stokes, back to his best, once he got in he treated the bowlers with distain. England pushed on after Lunch & had the luxury to declare, allowing 2 hours bowling. Fisher made the only breakthrough in his first over, with the wicket of Campbell. Leach will be the key as the pitch is starting to wear, & turn.

Match looks likey to be heading for a draw

Feel not having Broad and Anderson probably hasn't helped but I often have had the impresssion that the pitches in Carribean were often usually lively and sounds like this one probably went flat very quickly after maybe three days.

^^ Pitches in the Carribean have generally been this way for the last 20 years or more, with few exceptions. In domestic cricket the top wicket takers are often spinners.
I wouldn't jump the gun about a drawn match just yet, whilst it's the most likely result, the West Indies have a recent history of getting blown away, with the last 5 or 6 wickets going for very little.
