Really?? Aside from management mistakes (such as losing control during some night output and allowing content to seep through that ultimately caught the attention of Ofcom - they had the tools to stamp on that early doors and failed to do so) the format of the shows were surely successful, and a money spinner?? otherwise why continue with them for so long?? Did not all the issues start with that failure of oversight?? and did that not - as I truly believe - force them to take preemptive action by taking everything backstage, to try and lessen the approbrium and associated action from Ofcom that followed??

If the above isn't it, then it was just a plain duff business decision which they used the 'freeloader' excuse to hide behind

Agree with all you've written here - particularly with how, all things being equal, it seemed the current three operators could/should be able to coast along as they were with very little effort provided they did nothing overally daft. But isn't what's happened likely a combination of all these things including the cost of living crisis (which will be threatening many a punter atm). 66 will have seen an indication of where these things are taking them already. I'd suggest they are in a bit of a perfect storm of timing on this and have had to act accordingly. Yes the Ofcom thing will undoubtedly have been a good part of this decision but might not there be other things but mismanagement at play in this one?

You could indeed argue they may have put themselves in a more vulnerable position with their choices. We don't know what lead to those choices either mind. It seems likely there's been a mistep or two since 2018 might be the best way of putting it.Wink

I remember not that long ago when they had Valentina Morgan, Brooksie Brooks, Nikita Reign, Serenity, Lucia Maria, Jade Naomi, Roxie Hunt, Antonia Rogers, the list goes on and on, and somehow it still came to this. They had a dream team. Hard to mess that up really

I agree there are many factors at play but I think for the most part, the OF debacle and their run ins with OFCOM probably have brought things to a head and the current cost of living crisis has for the most part exacerbated things to a point. I also think to an extent, in the present climate they now do fear us punters not spending as much as we used to and that also probably has hastened the decision they have taken. But overall, for me their best shows were probably between say between 2010-14 maybe 15 and I would say the rot was well set in in 2018 and the pandemic was another catalyst. I am left wondering If I'll still be able to run my Studio66 comps in December., or should I wind them up?? It pains me to say this, but the Studio66 name has been all but erased from babechannel history.

They appear to be keeping the channel, but the question is what will they be broadcasting on it. Will nights now be the same as days usually are with just ads running all the time?

I think they were making huge losses weren't they? I bet Rammy was buying them at a knockdown price (only kidding Rammy!) just to make their sales look good. I think to be honest, it was something they brought out at the wrong time and it's concept probably was for the most part aimed towards the photo type of magazine.
