Evie Richards battled hard to finish a creditable fifth in the mountain biking race.
Meanwhile GB women have started their Rugby 7s campaign with a 21-12 victory over Ireland.

Kimberley Woods has qualified for the women's K1 canoe slalom final that is due off shortly.

And it's a stunning BRONZE medal for Woods after a storming final run.

It was that close too!! Considering the last to go was the defenidning champion (I think) Not sure where we are after the cross country phase of the eventing but thinking we're in silver medal position in both team and individual.

I am aurprised that the Dutch beach volleyball player Steve Van der Velde Is/was still allowed to compete having been prevously convicted of raping a girl. It does show that posssibly criminal convictions are not more seriously scrutinised in Olympics. I believe some athletes are not happy with him being there either. Not only that, Peaty has a swimmer in his final next to him who was banned for testing positive. Something tells me there needs to be far better scrutiny in future.

I was nice to see Evie happy with her performance despite not winning a medal

Ok I’ll fall for it. What have Manchester City got to do with it

Still waiting lovebabes56. Peps new contract depends on itBig Grin

Andy Murray and Dan Evans have pulled off a Houdini act extraordinaire to prolong the career of the Scot by at least one more match.
Trailing 2-6 0-2 all looked near lost for the British pair. But they forced a second set tiebreak which they won 7-5.
Into a deciding match tiebreak they went against Taro Daniel and Kei Nishikori.
The Japanese pair surged into a 9-4 lead.
Five match points. Surely all over.
Four bladewave. Three Shy. Two eek. One Surprised. 9-9 shocked.
10-9 GB eekeekeek.
Game set and match GB Surprised.

Astonishing stuff.

So over to Adam Peaty we go.
A very difficult few years for him on a personal level but now an Olympic final with genuine competitive jeopardy this time around. Good luck Sir.

SILVER for Peaty this time.

I feel a GB gold medal will probably come at the end of this week, but as long as our athletes put in a creditable performance that should be also applauded, even if they come within a whisker of a medal.

Tom Daley and Noah Williams set to go in the men's 10m synchronised diving final.

It's a really excellent SILVER for the British pair who performed magnificently.
