Packers 27 - 18 Commanders
A relatively comfortable victory for the Packers after a 14-0 lead the Commanders hung around just enough to give themselves hope, but it never really felt like an upset was on the cards. Jacobs extended his run of rushing TD's to 11 games, & had 23 carries for 84 yards which allowed Love to pock off his targets. Daniels didn't have the luxury of a ground game & his scrambling which is usually a strength, was kept in check with just 17 yard from 7 carries. The packers defence were swarming to the ball carrier all night the intensity was at a high level spurred on by a raucous crowd at Lambeau Field. Much will be made of the Micah Parson effect & it was a factor again, just half a sack he hit Daniels 8 times despite being occupied by 2 players throughout & not being fully integrated in the offence he causes chaos with Daniels needing to get passes off quicker than he would like. He is a slight build compared to many QB's, & showed great bravery. The *commanders rallied somewhat in the 4th quarter with 2 passing TD's from Daniels & a 2 point conversion when he found Luke McCaffrey in the back of the END Zone, the younger brother of Cristian. Kraft who had 6 receptions for 124 yards. Daniels was held to 200 yards passing, with 24 completions from 42 attempts. Love had 292 yards passing, with 19 completions from 31attempts. The big Tight End Tucker Kraft had a great night with 6 catches for 124 yards & a TD.
The Packers lost star WR Jayden Reed early with a broken collar bone & the Commanders RB Austin Ekeler left the game with a suspected Achilles injury.

One game in & I'm already resigned to the fact that this season will be one of rebuilding, even with an easier schedule a winning record never mind a Playoff berth seems a stretch for the Niners. Kittle on IR out for 4+ weeks, WR Jennings a doubt to start against the Saints & now Purdy set to miss 2 - 5 weeks with a toe injury.

^^ I didn't expect the Bears to crumble in that manner. New Bears Head Coach Ben Johnson the former Lions Offensive Coordinator would've known exactly what they face leading into the game, but there's only so much planning that you can put in, the players have to front up. The Bears were competitive in week 1 against the Vikings in a game that could've gone either way. This week was a backward step. Caleb Williams is still learning at QB & needs help from their defence. Stat wise the Bears did ok on offence, aside from 2 turnovers which they could ill afford.
What was almost inevitable was how the Lions would respond after the defeat to the Packers. Some were suggesting a slump, which after 1 week is ridiculous. What we got was an offence which mirrored last season, lighting up the scoreboard. They established the run game early with Gibbs & Montgomery both rushing for td's, then Goff opened up the passing game with a near flawless display, St. Brown catching 3 of his 5 touchdown passes.
The Bears cause wasn't helped with the loss of corner Jaylon Johnson & LB T J Edwards during the game. To put it into perspective the NFC North provided 3 Playoff teams last season & the Bears wasn't one of them. Saying that I expect the Bears to make a steady improvement this season.

Eagles 20 - 17 Chiefs
The late game was billed as a Super Bowl re-match, but it didn't have the same fireworks on either offense. It was one for the purists who appreciate a tough defensive battle. Hurts had just 101 yards passing. The explosive Barkley had a steady 88 yards from 22 carries & one TD. Mahomes had 187 through the air & was their leading rusher with 66 yards from 7 carries & a TD. His passing TD was off-set by an interception which bounced off the usually safe hands of Kelce in the red zone when a TD looked most likely. If that was crucial in the final outcome, there was another more alarming error from Coach Reid when he opted for a 4th down rush against arguably one of the games best run defences. It was a bizarre decision as the Chiefs were short of mid field at the time & it just handed the Eagles 3 points. The game was all about field position & for me that was the game right there. The Chiefs had 294 yards to the Eagles 216 yards total offense & should've used that advantage better.

Two weeks in and I don't believe that I've seen so many missed extra points. Yet the same guys go on to kick 50-60 yard field goals.

Cowboys 40 - 37 Giants O/T
Dallas had the advantage after 3 quarters 17-16, which is a boringly average score line at that point. What followed was anything but average, as the lead chanced 5 times in a crazy 4th quarter with 5 TD's in total, 2 field goals, a combined 41 points, &after all that the game was tied.
Cowboys kicker Aubrey showed his nerve with a kick to take it into overtime & the game winning field goal, in both cases as time expired on the clock.

Much more like it from my ravens this week another 40 points and less stressful roll on the double header later on
