RE: Top Gear - Charlemagne - 22-06-2015 15:37

It's mentioned that Top Gear is a francise, but I read that the BBC had bought the production company (Bedder 6) from Jeremy Clarkson in 2012. Clarkson was paid about 5 million for his share.

Clarkson and producer Andy Wilman formed the company in 2006

yeah thats why clarkson was on a 3 year contract which was up for renewal weeks before the incident and its the contract that wasnt renewed hence thats why Hammond and may were also free agents.

liked the story this weekend about carol vorderman was at the same place where clarkson and an un-named BBC producer were discussing him coming back. said didnt hear all the conversation but clarkson stayed for a drink with her and told her about this producer offering him his old job back. get the feeling parts of the bbc dont know what others are doing BounceBounce

Are you surely not suggesting that they make a 50 minute show about Chris Evans waffling about his car collection and the show is based around that?
the Star in a reasonably priced car is one part that of the show most enjoy, even if it likely to be that the thing the new show will probably drop is the challenges....

Eh? Where did I suggest that? I just said that they should drop those two elements and give the show a fresh approach. A new team with new ideas. I certainly did not suggest that Evans should be allowed to waffle on.
Where did you read that the one part of the show most enjoy is the star in the reasonably priced car? Every fan I personally know finds that part dull but that of course doesn't mean its not the most enjoyable part for the majority. I haven't seen any mention of that anywhere though.

So Evans has confirmed he will also be hosting a new series of TFI.
Seems like another u-turn. Similar to his 'I won't be hosting Top Gear' claim, on the recent TFI special, he touted Nick Grimshaw (arguably one of the few people potentially worse than Evans himself Smile) as the man to bring TFI back.
Now he is doing both shows, and his radio show!

The final episode of Top Gear with Clarkson, Hammond & May is on this Sunday at 8pm on bbc2

BBC fucked up big style there by no getting him in a golden handcuff deals that most companies do

The reaction to Grimshaw on Twitter was less than positive and that's putting it mildly. Evans can be a cock, but TFi wouldn't last 5 minutes without him presenting.

RE: Top Gear - The Silent Majority - 24-06-2015 01:30

It's looking ever more likely he's just going to turn up on the night of the studio filming, present the show, and fuck off again.
Unless they can really pull something out of the bag in terms of the co-presenters, I think this could be the start of a slow, lingering, death for the show bladewave

Anything that gets touched by Chris Evans' grubby hands suffers a slow lingering death! IMO. The BBC should have told Evans to wait a little longer before announcing anything and that would have given them the opportunity top sort things out with Clarkson.
We can be just thankful Evans isn't presenting any of the babe shows or they would be in far worse state than they are now!! Tongue

He won't be content with bringing back TFI he'll bring back the Big Breakfast too I bet!!
