You haven't got the slightest clue what your talking about do you.

RE: UFC - 199lives - 05-12-2010 18:51

i do thanks, MMA is still trying to get recognized as a major sport its still illegal in some US states (new york being the main one) and is only startiing to get recognized by major sports media as legitimate and not Brawling hicks. Sonnen failed the testosterone to epitestosterone ratio test pointing showing that had injected artificial testosterone. The fact afterwards he got some doctor to testify that it was prescribed is just a bullshit excuse.
when trying to get excepted by the established you have to go over and above to make sure that you're not questionable and situations like this just gives them an another reason to not except it.
fine the last part is just cos i think sonnen is a bellend, to mouth off about PED's them fail a test is just fucking stupid.

RE: UFC - cj666 - 06-12-2010 04:03

They had a certified doctor with 25 years medical practice testify that the testosterone was needed with all the relevant tests and blood work done from the year it was prescribed (2008) until the failed test (2010) and without it he would have been unsafe to fight thus not being cleared for a medical license.

Not only that but he wasn't called before the commission for having the testosterone in his system he was suspended for not declaring it under their commission, he didn't believe he had to after already doing it with the Oregon commission filling out again all the relevant paperwork and having his doctor inform them via fax, further more he told the head of the commission he was brought in front about his medically prescribed use of testosterone the day before the fight.

And in what ever terms your talking about getting mainstream acceptance, that's not true either, a handful of fighters have failed drug tests before for PED's they weren't medically prescribed. (Sherk, Marquardt, Alves) to name but a few, you can't single out one case that was entirely different as it was prescribed and legal for him to use unlike the others, the problem was the correct disclosure and following the proper regulations for the CSAC.

TUF 12 Finale spoiler:

Terrible decision in the Garcia/Phan match. The reaction by everyone said it all.

RE: UFC - groundnpound - 06-12-2010 11:47

Chill out on the Sonnen issue lads.Keep it on the fighting i say! lol All that shit will sort itself out.Welcome to the thread CJ666.Good to have u mate.199 knows his mma CJ and is a good lad.Don't let Chael Sonnen come between you lol

Quality Strikeforce vids Mitchell! Smile Thanks for those. That looked like an awesome night lol 3 quality Knockouts! Surprised

Congrats to J.Brookins for his Ultimate Fighter victory. Not to brag but i called it the first time i saw him on the show. Smile So did a few to be fair..I thought he was on the verge of getting knocked out though by Johnson in the first round...His striking was outstanding in the opener.Anyway i think the best guy won,but both look to have a good future in the UFC.

Totally agree with TDK and everyone else who watched the fight that Nam was completely robbed by the judges! What the f**k were those dudes watching? One of the worst errors in judgement i've ever seen!Nam Phan looks to have a good career ahead of him aswell though and saturday night was as good as a victory for me.

I cannot believe that Cody Mckenzie has won another fight via Guillotine Choke! What is it with these guys not being able to avoid that thing? One trick pony or what Rolleyes lol Jeez...Wilkinson will be dissapointed with that big time.

Can't wait for GSP vs Koscheck Smile

Now it's my turn to agree with you. I gave Nam Phan every round. I started watching MMA in 2002 and REALLY got into from January 2005 to the present day and it's probably the worst decision I've seen in that time. Though the result stunk, the aftermath may help Phan get a following with the fans and that's a good thing at least. Phan also got his winning bonus by Dana White as well.

RE: UFC - cj666 - 06-12-2010 14:16

Shogun Machida was much worse, not only because it was just a terrible decision but the stakes that were on the line.

RE: UFC - mitchell - 06-12-2010 17:25

I'll agree with you on Jonathan Brookins groundnpound i had him down as the winner after his second fight. He had a slow start in the final but i never thought he'd be stopped as i don't see Michael Johnson as a finisher, his wrestling control & subs are good but Brookins ground game is quality for the stage he's at.
I thought Johnson may have lost his semi to Nam Phan & up untill he got tired i thought Aaron Wilkinson would beat him, having said that i can see Johnson getting into a camp like Greg Jackson's with Rashad Evans & co & improving his alround game.

Gotta say i'm liking this 'frying pan' guy, i thought he may have got the decision against Michael Johnson in the semi, his technical boxing is quality & with BBJ & Muay Thai he's got a good set of skills. I think he may even go on to top Brookins & Johnson in his UFC career, also think he should call himself
'Viet' Nam Phan just to piss the Yanks offBounce

The decision by the judges was Fifa class!!! how one gave Leonard Garcia two rounds i'm not quite sure, good to see Cody McKenzie beat Aaron Wilkinson by guillotine chokeRolleyes thats now 12 straight... Well i say good to see, i actually didn't see it as i had to watch the repeat & it was only a 2 hour show & that fight wasn't on, nice one Skyannoyed

Oh yeah who's the new chief??? Grab yourself a chair, make yourself at home why don't youWink

RE: UFC - gazfc - 06-12-2010 19:53

Cant add anymore to that, the 'Viet' Nam Pham decision really narked me, wass the judges blind? I'm really glad Johnson didn't win though as he hasn't impressed me in slightest.

Cant wait till sat, should really be a good main event and a Koscheck win

Ohh and sky tv, if you ever read this, your coverage of The Ultimate Fighter was fucking diabolical.

I'll second that. Watched the majority of the series by other means but had to watch the last couple of episodes and the finale via Sky and they cocked it up royally. Or Virgin did (which would come as no surprise) because what I intended to record via the planner and what I actually recorded WERE TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FUCKING THINGS annoyed

Other than that, glad to see Brookins win and disappointed to see Aaron get done by Kody the Alaskan one trick pony, you'd have thought old English would have known what was coming Wink
