RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - Doddle - 21-01-2016 07:54 Konta won her 2nd round match in straight sets too Oh, and Andy Murray won his, ditto. RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - Regenerated - 21-01-2016 08:54 I stayed up to see Johanna Konta get through - super job. The Groth match was supposed to be a lot closer but Murray dismantled that so called "big serve". Just watching Lleyton Hewitt in what is in all likelihood his last match against Ferrer. Hope its a close one, although Ferrer has the first set on the board. RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - mikedafc - 22-01-2016 18:49 Roger Federer won his 300th Grand Slam match in his 67th Grand Slam by beating Grigor Dimitrov in 3rd round of Australian Open RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - Doddle - 23-01-2016 07:48 Konta won in straight sets again! RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - mikedafc - 23-01-2016 14:34 bit of drama during Ivanovic- Keys match as Ana's coach Nigel Sears(Kim's dad) collasped and had to be taken to hospital, thankfully he seems to be ok RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - mikedafc - 24-01-2016 22:06 At about 5am Monday morning, Jo Konta will attempt to become first British women to reach Q/Final since Jo Durie at Wimbledon in 1984 RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - Doddle - 25-01-2016 14:31 Konta came through in 3 sets, brilliantly enough Oh, and yer wee Scots lad won too, ye ken RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - Charlemagne - 25-01-2016 14:33 ^She's managed it. Johanna Konta through in mammoth 3 sets RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - mikedafc - 25-01-2016 17:15 ^ plays Zhang Shaui in Q/Finals, a woman who hadn't won a match at a Grand Slam in 13 tries but now has 4 in a row. She(Zhang) invited her parents to Australian Open as she was thinking of retiring after Tournament but might be rethinking that decision now RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - Snooks - 25-01-2016 17:30 Quarter Final Draw: Serena Williams v Maria Sharapova (doddle for Serena much as it pains me to say it as a Sharapova fan) Agnieszka Radwanska v Carla Suarez Navarro (would give Radwanska a slight edge) Angelique Kerber v Victoria Azarenka (I have to go with former champ Azarenka to win. In good form) Johanna Konta v Shuai Zhang (very tough call, I suspect the one that plays to win rather than try not to lose will come out on top. Stakes so high - I'll say Konta just) |
