Eddy caught doping 3 times and also introduced Lance Armstrong to Michele Ferrari Merckx.

I'm overjoyed that Cav is within spitting distance of wiping out one of the old fraud's records.

I agree to an extent but think we shouldn't really put modern standers on him as when he was riding 100% of the riders in the tour would have been doping,
That's why his record is still reguarded so much in France as they say as everyone was doping no one got a edge from it so the best still won as they would if it was a clean race,
I really do hope Cav takes the record out right though

Ending the Mountains with the Col du Tourmalet and a finish at the top of Luz Ardiden on Thursday could set the Cat amongst the pigeons.

Lachlan Morton (EF Education-Nippo Cycling) has completed his "alternative" tour, including all stages plus the distance between finish & start points ahead of the Peleton.

He also did it completely self-supported.

It's been an odd Tour. An anti-climax for me because I was salivating at the prospect of Pogacar/Roglic/Yates/Hart/Froome/Thomas/Carapas etc duking it out in the GC but crashes and the awful weather have conspired to rob it of tension.

...Unless someone can pull off an Andy Schleck-style 2011 Galibier solo mega ride today.

Two stat questions :-
1) Last French born rider to win the tour?
2) oldest/youngest rider to compete and also win the Tour?
