I think terrorism still needs to be taken seriously as a possible cause if the plane's disappearance, but on the other hand if whatever happened to the plane was passenger initiated you would think that the investigations of the passengers would have uncovered any links to terrorists.

The second was by an Australian survey company GeoResonance, who say they have detected a plane in The Bay Of Bengal. The third is by a British marine archaeologist Tim Akers, who says he's found the plane off the coast of Vietnam.

The second of these has been investigated by the Bangladesh Navy, which helpfully sent 3 ships to The Bay Of Bengal. GeoResonance had identified objects in the sea there with a chemical composition similar to parts of an airliner, but nothing has been found at the coordinates they supplied.

Farewell flight crews, you did your best. Some 334 search flights were flown and 3,137 hours were spent in the air. Unfortunately all of that effort found nothing.

So that is it then? We will never really know what happened?

No that isn't it, because the underwater search is still continuing. It's only the air search which has been called off.

It would also have registered as a seismic event on the many seismic detectors in the area.

I see several experts are now doubting whether the searchers ever detected the pings they thought they had, saying they could be animal tracking devices which were picked up, and not sounds from the plane's black boxes.

The Malaysian police have now said that the 11 people arrested are being investigated for terrorist activities, but no link to flight MH370 has been found and they probably aren't responsible for the plane's disappearance.

It's over 2 months now since the plane disappeared and still no sign. I think this could be another Titanic - which took 73 years to find.

Even a crash into the ocean should have registered as a seismic event, but despite the plane apparently going down in the Indian Ocean the seismic detectors in that area picked up nothing.
