Sad to hear of the retirement of Notts and England player James Taylor at the age of 26.

He has been found to have a serious heart condition which will be operated on later this week.

just seen sad news just seen what he has and it is similar to what Fabrice Muamba had.

Just when he'd forced himself into the one day squad this had to happen.

I'd like to wish him well and hope that the operation is successful

we would all echo that sentiment mate, sad that such a promising career has come to a premature end before it has even started

Pakistan have gone to the top of the ICC test match rankings despite the fact they play all their home matches in the United Arab Emirates

England have had 3 failing batsmen so it's no surprise that after a few good scores in the county championship, Ian Bell has been contacted by the selectors with a view to recalling him for the winter tours to Bangladesh & India.

Hmm, not sure his average of 37 in the Championship is really banging the door down. The reason for the meeting was that Bell has requested a No Objection Certificate from the ECB to allow him to play for the Perth Scorchers in the BBL in Australia this winter. As the fixtures clash with some of England's winter programme the selectors have to decide earlier than they would normally whether or not Bell is part of their winter plans. I guess we'll find out the outcome if and when the Scorchers announce their overseas players. England may pick him but given that Moeen will move up the order in India & Bangladesh due to his skills against spin, I think there's probably only 1 middle order spot up for grabs and I'd rather they went for a younger player such as Tom Westley at Essex
