Well personally I could tolerate that amount of wages a player earns. As at least its not a crippling amount of money that destroys clubs today.
If I was in charge of football though and to get all parties to agree, I would have a salary cap of around 50,000.
In the article in the comments section, someone pointed out that having clubs having a maximum amount of money spent on wages such as just say 1,000,000,000 is also a decent idea.
Someone also wrote that they would be worried a salary cap would cause the best players to move abroad for bigger wages. I would say good riddance to those players if thats the case. Fans want players committed to the club and not their bank balance

Tottenham looked better without Livermore in the team

I honestly don't think a cap would work, our tax is too high for it to work, all the best players would just go abroad, the only way it would work is to have a worldwide cap.

I'm just flinging shit on a wall here, but if a salary cap did come in perhaps maybe their would be a slight reduction on the tax.
A worldwide salary cap would be great, but I think a salary cap in Europe would be a good start. Also I doubt that many footballers would go to Asia to play football if there was a salary cap in European football . . . well maybe towards the end of their career. I think footballers despite earning lots of money want to play in the best leagues and against the best teams

this thing with ronaldo and real is about tax. basically as he is a forigner he has been only been paying 25ish % tax the spanish goverment have closed the loophole and now he will have to pay 40% thats why he is trying to engineer a huge pay rise or move somewhere else
