RE: Top Gear - bigguy01 - 28-12-2015 18:51

it appears that sabine schmitz, chris harris and coulthard will be joining chris evans has hosts.

sabine Schmitz is a good choice or suzy wolff if there had to be a female host.

^^
was just about to post this about the new top gear presenters. Sabine had been long rumoured to be joining the new top gear, mainly because she has appeared on the Clarkson, Hammond & May top gear a few times (at least twice), no complaints about david coulthard being a presenter as he has done well on bbc f1 coverage. never heard of chris harris though

RE: Top Gear - bigguy01 - 28-12-2015 19:02

chris harris is motoring journalist as well as being a racing driver, I have not heard of him either. at least they are getting people who know something about cars. this new top gear will be a lot different but I do hope they keep doing the races and the cheap car challenges. evans will only being doing top gear and his bbc radio 2 breakfast show.

Harris is a smug Twat, he makes Evans look like a nice bloke.

I won't be watching as long as he's involved.

WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO about time too.

Sabine is great.

Can't stand the rest of them.

I can't see it having success like it did when Clarkson,Hammond and May did it.

RE: Top Gear - lovebabes56 - 29-12-2015 22:11

I have a feeling that the BBC will attempt to do it on the cheap

RE: Top Gear - ShandyHand - 29-12-2015 23:12

^ "Factual" programmes are all facing budget cuts so that's pretty much inevitable. Only drama budgets are ringfenced so far.

RE: Top Gear - Doddle - 01-01-2016 19:08

Part 2 of the A-Z wasn't bad, either. I was slightly surprised at how much stuff wasn't covered, but I suppose that just shows how much they did in the 13 years.

Not looking good so far is it? (Includes supposed production budget information for those that wish to know.):

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/tv/6831197/Top-Gear-crisis-for-Chris-Evans.html

Why is it big organisations can never just admit defeat on a cash cow and allow that certain successes are intrinsically linked to the personalities involved? It's as if the corporate ego wont admit such a thing is possible.

Two of the comments beneath the article sum it up for me:

One insider said: “When Chris was hired it was like the problem of what to do with Top Gear after Clarkson left had been solved. But the problems keep on coming.”
Solved???.............Are these BBC people really that dumb or was it the director of BBC comedy who said it for a laugh?

So basically everyone else on earth (bar Chris Evens mom) looked at what was being proposed and concluded that replacing the original stars who were 99% of the reason people watched the show, with an annoying, talentless gob 5h1te, was self inflicted suicide by the beeb.

But not them, oh no, it was back to the golf course with a big delusional smile plastered over their mugs.

and

"BBC sources fear Evans is a complete unknown outside the UK."
The rest of the world don't appreciate how truly envious the UK is of them. We wish he was a complete unknown here as well.
