God help us when we start qualifiers for the Euros. RE: World Cup 2014 Brasil - Tractor boy - 15-06-2014 09:56 Where was the bloke from the mars ad when the nation needed his tactical advice ? RE: World Cup 2014 Brasil - lovebabes56 - 15-06-2014 10:01 never thought of that!! good point tractor boy!! Maybe they should have thought of tht when they had a free kick RE: World Cup 2014 Brasil - cosmonaut - 15-06-2014 10:04 (15-06-2014 06:48 )babelover48 Wrote: we'll suffer the embarrassment of being beaten by C. Rica Don't be condescending. Costa Rica are a useful side these days and can give anyone a game. It wouldn't be a great embarrassment to lose to them. Didn't you see them beat Uruguay? RE: World Cup 2014 Brasil - bytor - 15-06-2014 10:58 There are no easy games in the World Cup. Despite the fact that the media states that public opinion doesn't give England any chance of winning the cup it seems that some people have exaggerated expectations. To lose to Italy by one goal is no disgrace. Their passing at times is as good as it gets....and they have Pirlo. A skilful, intelligent playmaker of the type we just don't possess. Despite that if our overall defensive play had been a little better then the outcome might have been different. England have gems in Sterling, Barclay & Sturridge and with Oxlade-Chamberlain possibly fit to play we still have a chance to get out of the group. Hindsight as they say is a wonderful thing but I do think Terry and Cole's omission at the back has weakened the defence, which is prone to panicking when under slight pressure. RE: World Cup 2014 Brasil - HannahsPet - 15-06-2014 11:23 Wow the 91% pass completion rate last night best of any england side in the world cup ever stats were great even if the result wasnt RE: World Cup 2014 Brasil - lovebabes56 - 15-06-2014 12:22 (15-06-2014 10:04 )cosmonaut Wrote:(15-06-2014 06:48 )babelover48 Wrote: we'll suffer the embarrassment of being beaten by C. Rica like Scotland did all them years ago. Seriously, we ran out of ideas after they scored to go 2-1 up. I don't think you ran out of ideas, Rooney just wasted all your chances, even Barkley was looking at Rooney in disgust when he came on and Rooney was selfish and wasted another chance.. RE: World Cup 2014 Brasil - HannahsPet - 15-06-2014 14:13 yeah can see why barclay was he had got himself into a great position with a burst of pace only for rooney to nick the ball off him and waste the chance |
