RE: Scottish Independence (the sequel) - wackawoo - 13-03-2017 22:26 That Tindra does realise that it was the Tories that brought the referendum assuming they could bury the issue once and for all, and fought tooth and nail to remain? RE: Scottish Independence (the sequel) - wackawoo - 13-03-2017 22:30 Wonder if the EU will provide jobs for all the Scots in England when they have to leave. Free up a shit loads of jobs mind you. Scotland wont know what to do with all the extra people. It's not like there's been much interbreeding over the last 300 years RE: Scottish Independence (the sequel) - mikedafc - 13-03-2017 23:35 given they are trying to claim Indepedence will keep them in EU despite having no evidence to back it up i think it will be tougher sell if it happens RE: Scottish Independence (the sequel) - HannahsPet - 14-03-2017 07:32 where did you get that from about the EU bloke on Newsnight from them last night. was of the opinion if you are going to be going out of the EU anyway might as well do it as a seperate entity than as part of britain. I can actually see the point Brexit is going to mean upheaval to almost every system anyway so why not !! RE: Scottish Independence (the sequel) - Charlemagne - 14-03-2017 07:42 How does the finance work out for Scotland if the get Independance? Do they have to pay their EU fee's per person (11% of 360 million) = about 38 million a year, or is it per area (40% of 360 million) = 144 million a year. RE: Scottish Independence (the sequel) - The Silent Majority - 14-03-2017 08:05 I'm surprised she's made her move this soon. Makes you wonder if there's been stuff going on behind the scenes, and she has a card up her sleeve... RE: Scottish Independence (the sequel) - sweetsugar007 - 14-03-2017 08:51 Its an inevitability they will leave. With the absence of an effective Labour party and most young Scots wanting independence then there is only one way it can go. She had to go now as she the knows UK pariament will be tied up with Brexit negotiations and under pressure. There was a risk if the UK got a good deal there would not be a compelling event to leave she can trade in uncertainty. But if she loses she is finished. Neither is correct. The largest part of each member's contribution to the EU budget is a levy of 0.7% on the country's Gross National Income. RE: Scottish Independence (the sequel) - Charlemagne - 14-03-2017 12:35 Are there separate figures for Scotland's GDP? Or would they have to be independant for at least a year before a figure is known. |
