Warning the filename 5_99.jpg is already in existence on this server.

As i name my caps 1,2,3 etc they used to uploaded fine to imagechunck but recently i seem to get this type of message every time i try to upload a file which is name either 1,2 or 3 etc. When clearly my file called five ainit already on the server so why ainit it adding my pics an giving me this message instead these days.

It's done the same to me, on occasion, but that's not the most annoying part. That is after you have uploaded your file, and you get a message similar to this, you then find that those images were actually uploaded in one of your albums, but when you go to access them, it says they don't exist. And because they don't exist you can't even delete them. So you end up with images in your albums that you can't do anything with.

An update to the previous problem, is that although the individual links to the thumbnails has been corrupted, the BB code link in the top box, which displays all the current uploads. The links within that are fine to display your thumbnails.

Having this same problem with no thumbnail since last night.
I'm able to go in and delete the uploaded file and try again, but the system just isn't generating a thumbnail at all.
I'm guessing it can't be the filename, my files have the date and time in them, so it's highly unlikely there's another file of that name already on the system.
I tried manually linking to the thumbnail in case it was actually generated, but it just comes up empty, there isn't a thumbnail there.

I'll try again later, hopefully it's just a system blip.

I tried to post a pic this morning. Something went wrong and I got an "internal server error" message. No codes were returned to me. I looked at their gallery and the pic was there. When I clicked on the pic to get its properties and code it said pic does not exist.
I tried uploading again and it said pic with this name already exists.
I just changed the pic's name and uploaded it again. No problems this time. Smile

I've had no problems uploading images, it's just there's still no proper thumbnail generated. The Hotlink Forum code generated has no_thumbnail.jpg in the link, but the HTML Code does generate the *_thumb.jpg link as normal - but no thumbnail actually exists.

There is the preview thumbnail saved in htttp://www.imagechunk.com/index.php?module=thumbnail&file=x.jpg which indicates that a thumbnail has been generated??? obviously though they're stored in a different location or are not suffixed with *_thumb.jpg ???

RE: ImageChunk Problem - aceman65 - 11-07-2010 17:52

The thumbnails are generated, and do exist. It's just the individual code is the same for all thumbnails.

Example :

This is an example of the individual code generated by ImageChunk :
(URL=http://www.imagechunk.com/viewer.php?file=cali_elite_webstream_07_07_10_oil_in_white_room.jpg) (IMG)http://www.imagechunk.com/css/images/no_thumbnail.jpg(/IMG)(/URL)

Notice the code for the thumbnail is pointing to a no thumbnail JPG.

This is the correct code that should have been generated :
(URL=http://www.imagechunk.com/viewer.php?file=cali_elite_webstream_07_07_10_oil_in_white_room.jpg)(IMG)http://www.imagechunk.com/images/cali_elite_webstream_07_07_10_oil_in_white_room_thumb.jpg(/IMG)(/URL)

I have changed the brackets used to allow it to show up, but can see the problem.

Plus if you upload more than one image at a time, the BB Code in the top box is not corrupted, and works fine.

Hope this helps you guy's out, until George fixes the problem.

Thanks aceman65, works a treat Smile

I tried this yesterday, I often cut-paste the url, then add the "_thumb" manually to get the thumbnail, but it wasn't working. I just tried again, and still not working, then realised that with the no thumbnail image there is a /css/ added in the path

imagechunk.com/css/images/no_thumbnail.jpg

remove that and add your filename and the _thumb and it works

imagechunk.com/images/real-filename_thumb.jpg

I had this a couple of days ago but only once. I've uploaded 100+ files since then no problem.

Protip: If you select a number of files in windows explorer, then press f2 and rename one of them, all the others will be renamed similarly. It's a bit messy but it lets you quickly rename a load of files.
