when you say "lucky break" I assume there was no pun intended Winklaugh

As a united fan ferdinand when he has played has had an indifferent season at best. Dawson should have been given a chance much earlier in the season. King is certainly up to the job if his fitness holds up, Upson is a decent defender who has a good number of games to his name. Dawson probably won't even play but good luck to him if he does I hope he shows why he should have been in from the start.

I agree Rio has been a liability to England recently.

As seen in the Daily Mirror this week
When the England team were leaving to fly off to South Africa on Virgin
Capello took Heskey to one side, so that he could meet some British Airways staff.
He wanted to show him what an effective striker looked like.

According to the Daily Mirror, Ferdinand injured his knee in turning when he attempted to chase after Heskey. Are you really blaming Heskey for that?

Rio the captain of the team one of our most experienced players so how can anyone not say its a huge blow is beyond me. This is the world cup so with that becomes pressure on the players least Rio would of been able to handle that as it would of been his 4th time

BringbkMinnie talks sense. I agree totally, it would have been his 4th tournament and to lose a captain and the most capped player in the squad is always a blow to any team. Sad

I'm not saying there aren't good players still in the squad, I'm just saying its a blow to lose influential players. Huh
