In the 2nd OOI against South Africa.
England has a tough target of 288 to get... So they managed to lose the England captain without score Rolleyes

If they win this one they'll have performed miracles

^ Well no miracle,England bowled out for 207 in 40.4 overs an 81 run defeat.

England put in a much improved performance with a 4 wicket win over South Africa in the 3rd ODI from the Oval. After winning the toss SA were all out for 211 with 20 balls left,no batsmen passed 50.Anderson 4-44 Dernbach 3-44.A patient 71 from Trott & an aggressive 73 from Man of the Match Morgan helped England level the series going into the 4th ODI at Lords tomorrow.

Jonathan Trott's going to miss tomorrows match with an injured hand.
The replacement with either be Bairstow or Buttler. Unless the fancy bringing big Kev back Big Grin

As an Irishman, I find it hilarious, but what is the deal with Ravi Bopara? I want see why he keeps getting picked, out for a 2 ball duck today, he might be a good county player, but he clearly can't handle the international stage

RE: England v South Africa 2012 - Charlemagne - 05-09-2012 15:06

I think that this was his last chance saloon....

He'll be moved down the pecking order and will only be picked after:
Bairstow, Buttler, Taylor, Root, and any South Aftrican who can qualify for England and anyone at the MCC academy who can hold a bat.. Rolleyes

Couldnt help but notice the lack of KP in there...

Bairstow (up until just now) looks a good talent

Prior to Bopara's personal problems which resulted in him withdrawing from the Test side he was having his most consistant spell in ODI's.Looking at him now you wonder if his head's in the right place.Pity as his bowling can be useful.

England finished as they started with a poor batting performance posting a below par 182 all out.South Africa win by 7 wickets with 15.3 overs left.Series tied 2-2

What a load of rubbish.
Why do they keep picking Bopara when he can't defend a ball on his off stump
