He was on the podium, but not at the top.

Jenson Button was on the top sticking up two fingers at him.

love thatBounce

very good opening race to the season with mclaren edging it overall with red bull benefitting from a safety car to make things interesting at the end.

great to see williams have a good race and would have picked up points but for maldonado crashing at the end

Great win by Jenson, but the real star of the race for me was Fernando Alonso, driving such a poor car to fifth place.

Gutted for Grosjean, Maldonado gave him no room whatsoever. Such a great qualifying performance too.

Good to see Daniel Ricciardo scoring points too, met him when he was racing in British F3, really friendly guy. Toro Rosso have a very interesting driver pairing, both Ricciardo and Vergne have had very similar results in the lower formulas.

Force India have skipped the second practice section of the Bahrain GP, because of safety concerns. I don't think they should be there in the first place, because Bahrain is not stable at the moment with the Arab Spring protests

Vettel starts on pole, Hamilton 2nd, Webber 3rd, Button 4th, Rosberg 5th

Hope i am wrong but cant see this race finishing without some form of protest on the track. They were burning an effigy of wee bernie but it fell into the zippo mechanismRolleyesRolleyes

You might well be right. It is mental pretty crazy out there right now. If there is a form of protest on the track then as ironic as it sounds given what they are protesting about... I hope no body gets hurt. The drivers are just doing their jobs.

Are Force India still taking part in the race?

They are still there but not happy. Left qualifying to get back to their hotel before dusk. Not a great way to have to prepare for a race.

So pleased for Romain Grosjean. He never gave up on returning to F1 and it's paid off for him.
