Just goes to show how polarising she was. I've yet to hear anyone say they don't have an opinion on her, or that they just aren't interested. It's quite amazing really Tongue

One of the best parliamentary speeches I've ever heard. I agree that it's a must watch.

Of course, what really gets on her tits is that Thatcher dragged Labour into the Centre, where they've stayed. She should have joined a left-ish Kinnock government in 1992 and then seen the country gratefully accept a lurch to hardline socialism. The trouble remains that most Labour voters are just so conservative!

Latest rumours are saying No 3. I think it's a bit pathetic that the BBC will only play 5 seconds of it.

Sheila Coleman also said this:

"The HJC hope that now she is dead, at least those who have protected her will do the decent thing and release all documentation in respect of the Hillsborough cover-up. She was instrumental in the Hillsborough cover-up. We call on the government to release all documentation about her involvement."

I'm with you, it's bollocks.

God bless Glenda Jackson. You can see why she twice won an Oscar. Great speaker.

RE: Margaret Thatcher Dead - Shady - 12-04-2013 18:05

Bloody ridiculous though that her speech was talked over and jeered at so much. What was 'The Speaker' doing when all of that childish behaviour was going on? Thatcher aside, it's that behaviour in general that gets on my nerves in The Commons. They sound like a bunch of school kids!

Thatcher's supporters who are campaigning for "I'm in Love with Margaret Thatcher" by the Nonsensibles to get to No.1, do not realise that it is a piss-take track. They would score an own goal if it does get to the top spot! Big Grin

Imagine if Top of the Pops was still broadcast on a weekly basis. You'd have Reggie Yates or Fearne Cotton doing a "Diddy" and saying something along the lines of this.

RE: Margaret Thatcher Dead - docutech - 13-04-2013 11:59

I like my politicians to be decisive whatever party they are and Thatcher was definitely that, agreed with somethings and not with others but at least it was a decision.

Some of the comments from Union people and other prominent figures are a disgrace, people in authority should respect even if they never agreed with the individual.

As for any trouble just an excuse from layabouts and idiots to cause mayhem.
