South Africa aren't the team of old. There are in transition.
There's only Amela and Du Koch and maybe Philander who would have got into one of their top teams

Whereas Ali has gone from being a batsman who can bowl a few spinners, into a fully fledged all -rounder

Good result and a nice way for Rooty to start his captaincy....well played Moeen Ali!

2nd test from Nottingham.
South Africa won the toss and have opted to bat first.
Root has said that he would have bowled

At the end of the first day South Africa are 309-6

RE: England v South Africa 2017 - Snooks - 15-07-2017 11:41

South Africa: 335 all out.
Anderson 5/72.

England need to avoid losing an early clump of wickets and see off the new ball.

Overcast conditions are making batting difficult.

6 wickets have gone for 28 runs.

England are currently 6-2. Root and Gary Ballance are at the crease.
Can't see Ballance last long.
In fact with the conditions the match may not last the day bladewave
