If you live in the Stafford area then you might already know about this.
The police shepherded a huge O2 tank between Cheshire and the M42 this week and from what I read they've more to move during the next six weeks.
Air Liquide are (I was once told) the biggest gas company in the world. I've so far not been able to work out what it's needed for or why it's being moved.

Why do groups put down a carpet to stand on when they play live?

I've noticed it before but I've just been satisfied with because they do, until now.
They do it for big and little gigs and in the studio. It's always a rug thing, Persian carpet.
Some of the answers I've seen are:
It makes for a homely atmosphere.
It stops slips, trips and falls.
In case there's nails in the floorboards.
It keeps players together in one area.
It prevents possible electrocution.
Cable control.
Easier on the feet.
Stops the drum kit sliding about.
Magic carpet ride.
The best answer I've read tho' is that groups have had the rug pulled out from under them by the unscupulous, this way the lawyer or impresario can't because they're standing on it.

Now i don't like going by air.
I've no problem with the flying itself but being herded about and searched in case someone else has something dangerous isn't for me.
But once a few years ago I went on a jet to see the Northern Lights. After a lecture about them we took off from Gatwick, flew to over Stornaway and came back. Unfortunately ours was the one night in ten when you can't see them but no matter, we came back over Liverpool and The Wirral and the view was spectacular, like a road atlas in front of me.
The idea of going on a jet is daft of course because you surely won't be able to distance properly but one day this might be a good idea.

Now I've always liked Andy Hamilton.
I first heard of him as a co-writer for Drop the Dead Donkey in the early nineties and since then he's turned up on game shows and he's the writer behind many of the comedians who I thought were funny enough to not need one.
And now this. What a terrific effort personally. I like that there's crossings out. If I did it there's be Tipp-X too.
One question, it's taken him two years to write it....and I mean write it, so how long will I have to wait for my copy? I mean the term life's work is banded about but he's what, late 50's I'd say. If he had 20 orders well, conceivably someone's gonna be disappointed aren't they. Smile

Goatman wants even more cuddles then he normally does when we go to bed together.
