RE: 2019 Women’s World Cup - AD82 - 16-06-2019 10:05 ^^^ Let's hope Alex Morgan follows the trend when the USA play Chile this afternoon! ![]() RE: 2019 Women’s World Cup - William H Bonney - 16-06-2019 20:03 USA had to be content with a mere 3-0 win today, although their opponents Chile are ranked lower by FIFA than Thailand, who they beat 13-0 last week. As for Thailand, they played much better today than they did against the USA, but still lost 5-1 to Sweden. The second round of matches is now complete and the final round of group matches starts tomorrow, with England and Scotland both playing on Wednesday. Out of the 24 matches so far, the favourites in each match have managed to win in 21 of them. RE: 2019 Women’s World Cup - mikedafc - 17-06-2019 00:02 ^Chile Goalkeeper was very good, made a lot of good saves to keep score down. RE: 2019 Women’s World Cup - lovebabes56 - 17-06-2019 04:20 At least Thailand scored which must have been celebrated wildly back home. The USA atm I would say they wil be hard to stop. RE: 2019 Women’s World Cup - 7 stars of the orient - 19-06-2019 05:58 These retaken penalties have been a right farce. I hope something can be done about this before next season begins. RE: 2019 Women’s World Cup - lovebabes56 - 19-06-2019 06:46 I think FIFA have to be seen making a point on this asap. I think they have to stamp down on this very quickly. Whether it was retaken on VAR appeal or VAR stepped in themselves,IMO it makes a complete mockery of the original spot kick decision. Once VAR or the referee has made the original penalty decision, NO FURTHER APPEAL OR JUDGEMENT should be made by either until the kick has been taken and if the kick is to be re - taken, then only the referee can make that decision to allow the kick to be re - taken. Whether the attacking score or the defending goalkeeper makes a save, the result of that original spot kick stands, and cannot be changed. If they don't we would be getting into a situation where managers would be allowed three challenges to VAR decisions per game like it is in tennis or in cricket and that in itself would be even a farce in football. RE: 2019 Women’s World Cup - mikedafc - 19-06-2019 13:10 With French penalties v Nigeria there was clear encroachment by French players on both penalties but nothing was done about thst RE: 2019 Women’s World Cup - GMach1 - 19-06-2019 19:38 1-0 England v Japan. Ellen White does her usual 'goggles' routine which I found out is copying a Bundesleagua played Anthony Modesta who did it. Ellen's husband suggested she should do it(they are big fans of the German league apparently) RE: 2019 Women’s World Cup - GMach1 - 19-06-2019 20:44 2-0 to England!! but it was squeaky bum time as Japan have been pushing close to equalising before that. Once again great movement from Ellen White who scored again but we have been really bad in midfield giving the ball away too many times and that English disease of passing back which allows the opposition to crowd them out. Scotland are 3-2 at the moment to Argentina.
