The next phase of the tour is a three match ODI series starting next Tuesday in Cape Town.

I think if anything the SA's might be a little more inspired in the ODI's to beat us knowing we are the World Cup holders

Test wise we have to improve further still this summer if we are going to send a team down Under to reclaim the Ashes, but I would say at the moment we have to hope that the fires are out soon

The 1st One day international (50 overs) takes place today.
South Africa put England in to bat.

Roy and Baistow are opening for England, and are 6-0 after 2 overs

England ralley to 258-8

South Africa batted 1st and managed the total of 259 with the loss of 3 wickets.

I wouldn't read too much with this result.
South Africa had the better of the conditions and Stokes and Buttler weren't playing.

England won the toss and have inserted South Africa.

Todays rain affected match ended as a no result after South Africa scored 71/2 off 11.2 overs.

England rotate their squad and make 3 changes for today's 3rd ODI, which leaves Dawid Malan as the only member of the 15 man squad not to feature in the series. Saqib Mahmood makes his ODI debut, although he has already played T20s for England.
