“Effective 1 October, 2021, OnlyFans will prohibit the posting of any content containing sexually-explicit conduct. In order to ensure the long-term sustainability of the platform, and to continue to host an inclusive community of creators and fans, we must evolve our content guidelines. Creators will continue to be allowed to post content containing nudity as long as it is consistent with our Acceptable Use Policy.

These changes are to comply with the requests of our banking partners and payout providers.”

Seems unambiguous.

So a bunch of woke bankers (who spend their spare time coked up and screwing hookers) are pretending that there is something wrong with sexual conduct between humans?

The problems OF have had with illegal content also means that no financial organisation will provide services if they don’t clean up their act.

Given a choice of losing say 50% of their revenue in the short term or losing the whole business because they have no way of monetising services what do you expect them to do!

Communicating properly would help. Stating that they would continue to back the creators that put them were they are today if they could for instance. Having some balls and making a show of a stand basically. Calling bullshit and scaremongering on a fair few of the BBC's claims. Calling out those that would threaten the livelihoods of legal content providers just because they don't like porn. Hell even defining "sexually explicit content" fully and publically would be a start.

^ Valid points SH but not a reply to anything I posted. To be honest the only scaremongering I've seen has been in the press and by a few posters on here.

The financial regulators take a dim view of institutions that provide banking services to customers who engage in illegal activity. Look at what happened to Pornhub. It's not a case of OF showing some balls - that's just silly talk. If your financial service providers say we won't accept your business unless you clean up your act what the hell do you expect them to do?

RE: OnlyFans - ShandyHand - 20-08-2021 21:29

I agree they are probably between a rock and a hard place. But they have a choice in how they frame their actions on this. By balls I mean as in not throwing the people that made them billions money under a bus by not even showing appreciation of them in their statements on the matter. By showing no regret for not being able to continue as they were. No apology for being caught out by a few fakeID's and for giving the opposition their paltry ammunition. No one wants to tell it as it is to these modern puritans that keep insisting on hitting the moral panic button based on a repressive ideology. It's as old as the hills. They never have genuine cause for propelling such sweeping censorship. And they will never be placated by acquiescence. By such meekly acquired victories they are only encouraged. At least OF could've stood up for free expression as they did what they had to but no they just kowtowed in the most lily-livered unsupportive way imaginable.

There will be lots of chargebacks (ironically through visa and MasterCard) for those year long memberships.

Bit gutted tbh, I'll miss that frisson of excitement followed by a gnawing sense of guilt and shame when once again i have fallen for Ashley Emma, Olivia etc $3,.sorry $3.60 with VAT special offer...

R.I.P. Onlyfans... It was fun while it lasted.

Another comment by OnlyFans. They seem to have changed the rules but find it difficult to straightforwardly say that the rules have been changed.

This is a good thread explaining the OF decision.
