Konstantin Kosachev, Russian MP: "Music lost, because victory clearly did not go to the best song, and the contest lost because political attitudes prevailed over fair competition."

Elena Drapeko, Russian MP: "The result is unjustified and hard to accept. It's partly a consequence of the propaganda war of information that is being waged against Russia."

Sergei Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister: "The Russian government is fully aware of what happened in the Eurovision song contest. This outrageous action will not remain without a response."

Bitterness over Ukraine winning? Well yes, exactly that, but these quotes were taken from 2016 after Ukraine won Eurovision that year (in a close contest Russia finished 3rd).

The thing is that Eurovision is almost insanely popular in Russia, so Ukraine's victory in 2016 was hard for them to stomach. They must be in complete meltdown this time.
Probably are because of been exxluded Tongue Tongue if they had been the arseholes they are, and not invaded, they would have been allowed to enter. Simple really.

Also the organisers were warned of massive DDoS attacks from Russian sites, and managed to intervene before the event. This didn't affect the UK because it didn't allow text or online votes unlike other countries.

That begs the question...are there tell tale signs to look out for, that suggest it is someone hacking from Russi?? That said it seems inevitable thatb somewherre along the lines they would have attempted to cause confusion in voting. They now wiil lhave to beef up the texting and voting onlne systems before next year.

I found it odd that Azerbaijan ever so often got 12 points from a country. bladewave

And it was the dullest record of the night

Greece, Serbia and Spain gave 12 points to Azerbaijan. It's only 3 countries out of 40.

Ukraine will not host next year’s Eurovision Song Contest. The EBU are working with the BBC to host the Eurovision Song Contest somewhere in the UK.

There definitely won't be if Macron gets his own way.

I notice the BBC are already claiming several cities like Leeds and Liverpool are touting for the chance to stage it, which seems just a tad too eager to be tasteful.
