RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - *Kal-El* - 25-01-2016 14:42 I highly recommend picking up Bad Boys I & II 20th Anniversary collection, you get both films with a 4K transfer and picture quality and sound 5.1 DTS transfer and it sounds stunning on a home cinema system. There's tons of extras on the first film audi commentary, music videos, a documentary and original trailers. Bad Boys II has over 2 hours of special features deleted scenes, featurettex, music videos, and much more. Only downside no digital copy of each film, you can get a digital copy of the first film but only if you get the steel version. But it from Sainsburys and it's a tenner cheaper then it is online where it's anything between £12-£17, for a tenner works out as a fiver a film bargain. RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - rpj316 - 29-01-2016 12:16 Jaws Bought it for £2. Everybody knows this is film is a masterpiece. The blu ray version gets a fully remastered and restored picture approved by Spielberg and new 7.1 soundtrack. Bonus features include all the extra from the 30th anniversary DVD edition from 2005 and a new restoration featurette. The blue ray exclusives include the amazing documentary "The Shark is still Working".The Impact and Legacy of Jaws. I got this from a local shop,I don't know how much it is anywhere else. RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - *Kal-El* - 29-01-2016 12:20 That's a bloody good bargain mate. RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - rpj316 - 29-01-2016 12:22 I know, couldn't believe it. RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - rpj316 - 03-02-2016 13:19 Society(1989) A really, strange, sick yet interesting horror satire from Brian Yuzna.Featuring the vomit inducing but spectacular live action creations of Screaming Mad George. Extras include a commentary from Brian Yuzna. Featurette : Champions of The Shunt. I snapped it up for a fiver from my local Granger Games.I'm not sure how much it is anywhere else but its worth getting if you like cult horror films. RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - rpj316 - 05-02-2016 17:32 The Raid(2012) Martial arts film that is basically a cross between Enter the Dragon and Die Hard. Blu ray extras include the original UK version and the full uncut version. Audio commentary from director Gareth Evans Video blogs Fan films Featurettes Behind the music An evening with Gareth Evans,Mike Shinoda and Joe Trapanese £5 from Tesco RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - rpj316 - 09-02-2016 19:56 Fanboys £4 from Granger Games Four Star Wars fans set out on a mission to steal the rough cut of The Phantom Menace from Skywalker Ranch. Decent comedy with some good extras but it is let down by a poor HD transfer. RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - *Kal-El* - 11-02-2016 00:29 I highly recommend picking up The Steven Segal Collection on Blu Ray, this collection has the best set of his films when they were via Warner Bros after his picture contract run out with Warner Bros his films were average all tho one or two weren't bad. The collection contains five of his best films Under Siege 1 and 2, Hard To Kill, Nico: Above The Law and Executive Decision were it's just more of a cameo role. Blu Ray transfer is much better then DVD version but don't be except a crystal crystal transfer as you'll be disappointed, the sound quality is really good and a hell of improvement over the DVD versions with a 5.1 digital transfer and the only extras you get are trailers. Now were these films really shine is for the first time in the UK all four films are uncut and it's lot different to the cut versions that appeared in the cinema, VHS and DVD, I said four out of five are uncut as Executive Decision is still cut its not any of action that's cut its some of dialogue was edited years ago probably to do with political correctness to do with terrorism I think that's why True Lie's isn't able on Blu Ray. With the films being uncut now that all alone is worth the asking price and picking it up at only £7.99 on Zavvi. RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - rpj316 - 11-02-2016 01:20 ^^ You can't beat Steven Segal's Zen/violence philosophy.Awesome stuff mate,I'll be getting them RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - rpj316 - 12-02-2016 12:22 The Goonies: 30th Anniversary Edition £12 from Granger Games Great remastered transfer and sound. Extras are mostly brought in from the old DVD version. Director/cast commentary. Deleted scenes(including the legendary octopus scene) Story board art cards and a souviner booklet. |
