The flight path taken looks intentional on someone's part, but there are no good suspects. The pilot and flight officer are upstanding citizens, and other than a couple of false passport holders there isn't anything suspicious about any passenger. This all makes a fire/electrical/mechanical issue seem more likely. But in that case how does the plane fly for hours and navigate around Indonesia and out into the Indian Ocean? I don't see any scenario here that makes sense.

So there is really nothing to be suspicious about people who use false passports... Rolleyes

Who's behind the offering of this reward?

If there is some sort of high-level cover-up going on, I don't think $3 million is going to be enough compensation to a whistle-blower, it doesn't buy enough security.

That's what they claim. The 2 Iranians using stolen passports have been eliminated from the enquiry.

The families of the missing passengers, who believe that someone somewhere knows what really happened.

What would happen if it was a terrorist who revealed what happened? Would he still get the $3m reward? Important

^ He'd still be entitled to the money.
They'd stick a $3 million cheque in his coffin after his execution

There is a Horizon programme on BBC2 on Tuesday the 17th called "Where is Flight MH370?"

I would expect them to apply some sense to the subject, although there may not be anything new.

Thanks for the heads up! The programme couldn't shed any light on what happened to the plane, due to lack of evidence, but it did give a likely reason of why it hasn't been found.

It seems the searches in the southern Indian ocean have been in the areas where the supposed pings from the black boxes were detected - and not in the area where Inmarsat believe the plane most likely is, based on the satellite pings.

Yes they need to trust the Inmarsat data absolutely and look further south and the plane will be found.
