RE: Olympics 2012 - Rammyrascal - 05-08-2012 22:17 another good day for team gb. also another good day for laura robson as well in her very young career, a silver medallist at just 17/18. she's going to have a very successful career RE: Olympics 2012 - Tumble_Drier - 05-08-2012 22:29 Did anyone see the plastic bottle thrown onto the track before the 100m final started? It comes in from higher up on the left and lands on the track. One of the runners (i think it was Powell) twitches slightly in his blocks as it lands... RE: Olympics 2012 - Tumble_Drier - 05-08-2012 22:38 Update on the bottle story.. Fan arrested after beer bottle thrown at start of 100m race Footage of tonight's men's 100m final shows a green beer bottle landing on the track, yards behind Jamaican sprinter Yohan Blake, just before the starting pistol was fired. It appears Dutch judo bronze medallist Edith Bosch - part of a posse of Netherlands athletes in the crowd - punched the drunk spectator who threw the bottle. The culprit was then arrested. Haha! You know that was the first thing I noticed! I did think "is that meant to be there" however I assumed it was nothing, but reading your post above ^^ it appears it WAS something, and potentially pretty serious! I saw it rolling around on the live coverage but assumed it had just fallen from an athlete's kit box. I've seen a couple of photos now and it's definitely a glass beer bottle rather than a plastic one as i first thought. I hope someone has video of the Dutch Judo player lamping the cretin who threw it RE: Olympics 2012 - dan g 27 - 05-08-2012 23:01 (05-08-2012 22:38 )Tumble_Drier Wrote: It appears Dutch judo bronze medallist Edith Bosch - part of a posse of Netherlands athletes in the crowd - punched the drunk spectator who threw the bottle. But fair play to the Dutch man for judo chopping the bottle thrower, he deserves a gold medal for that RE: Olympics 2012 - Rammyrascal - 05-08-2012 23:03 (05-08-2012 22:37 )malicious fan Wrote: i just hope she can sort her serve out rammy cos it does seem to be letting her down and it is a weak link in her game! that will probably get better with practice and alot of hard work and then maybe she will be able to compete better at senior level against the top players! im sure she will, she's only recently started playing on the main tour. the more she does the better she gets RE: Olympics 2012 - Tumble_Drier - 05-08-2012 23:05 (05-08-2012 23:01 )dan g 27 Wrote: Didn't see of what went on there and I didn't see the crowd react to it either. By the way, the Dutch Judo player is female... |
