Germany showing their superior quality by going 4-1 up. Khedira's goal was just brilliant

We're going to get chances in the game but we MUST take them. Rooney looked really out of sorts against Ukraine and Roy must be wondering whether to start with him or, as HP suggests, start with Walcott and Ox.

Irrespective of anything else, it's been an absolutely cracking tournament and you couldn't have asked for much more than the last six teams being;

Germany v England/Italy

Portugal V Spain/France

(except perhaps Netherlands instead of Portugal)

If you can get at the Germany defence, as Portugal did to them in the last 20 mins of their game in the group stages, then you can cause problems for Germany

Just been catching the highlights. Not sure from what I saw that Germany have solved the problem of the Spanish
Game yet but the English Defence will likely cause them no more problems than usual...Sad

Boris aside, I can't see any English politicians competing with Angela Merkel. Think I know the real reason she was celebrating though. "What did we say? Double or quits...?"

I have a feeling the French are going to beat the Spanish tonight, because theres usually one shock result in the quarter finals and I think this may be it

You might be right there, Dan. The French have the potential to beat anyone, and I think it depends which French side turn up. The shock result against Sweden will either spur them on or they'll crumble. Who knows with the French... la la la!

I wasn't surprised at the margin of victory for Germany last night. I really hoped that Greece would have made more of a game of it,(and show that they deserved to be in the quarter finals) but I was surprised as to how they played the first 45 mins. I did think they were inviting trouble. And I agree wuth Dan, I think there is[u] a shock tonight on the cards. And there will be only one goal in it. France need to attack Spain from the off.
