RE: WWE PPV Prediction Thread - Jack the Nipper - 19-08-2018 20:19 Either I can hold my position on the last hurdle or fall flat on my face (most likely outcome).Anyway my Predictions for Summerslam are; SD Women's Title;Charlotte Flair SD Tag Titles;New Day Finn Balor beats Corbin (then move on & end this bloody feud) SD US Title;Shinsuke Nakamura MITB Briefcase Match;Kevin Owens (then cashes in on the Universal Title match) Raw Universal Title Match;Roman Reigns (I don't believe he'll walk out the arena as champ though due to the MITB cash in) Cruiserweight Title;Drew Gulak (a shock title win needed to freshen up the division) The Miz beats Daniel Bryan (to gain momentum in a prolonged feud) Raw Women's Title;Ronda Roussey SD Men's Heavyweight Title;AJ Styles Raw IC Title;Dolph Ziggler (a heel turn by Ambrose as everyone is predicting will prevent Rollins reclaiming the belt) Andrade 'Cien' Almas/Zelina Vega beats Rusev/Lana Raw Tag Titles;B-Team Applying a bit of logic based on WWE's predictability & at times inability to think outside the box to their matches (instead of looking at any betting odds on matches that already have a pre-determined winner) Gulak picks up a title win to freshen up a Cruiserweight Division that has stagnated as Alexander has beaten everyone. The Miz has to beat Daniel Bryan to keep the momentum for a feud that'll probably run to WM.With WWE2k19 having AJ as it's cover star (which is released in October) kind of prevents Samoa Joe winning the belt until after the game is out.Dean Ambrose's career kind of stagnated just before he got injured but now he is back packing on a bit of muscle & a new hair cut a heel-turn makes sense. Strowman retaining his MITB briefcase & cashing in on the title match is too predictable so Owens sneaking a win for the briefcase & cashing in mid-match on Reigns (like Rollins did a few years ago) makes sense (Owens V Reigns has already been seen advertised for a September PPV).This'll be a PPV that will probably be more remembered for the heel-turns ie Heyman,Ambrose,Charlotte Flair or Becky than the matches themeslves. Thanks to all who played, those who joined along the way, even at the very end, and those who dropped off. Kingsmind is more than welcome to start running this from Hell In A Cell in 4 weeks' time RE: WWE PPV Prediction Thread - Kingsmind - 20-08-2018 16:57 I am ready guys get ready to kick off the new season at Hell in a Cell RE: WWE PPV Prediction Thread - lenny10 - 20-08-2018 17:33 (20-08-2018 13:31 )Doddle Wrote: So, who were the winners & losers? Cracking job as always and I'm not bottom. Bonus lol RE: WWE PPV Prediction Thread - Jack the Nipper - 20-08-2018 17:55 Christ I very nearly blew it at the final hurdle with Toonlink64 storming it on the SS predictions getting 12/13 biting on my heels right till the end leaving it too close for comfort.I literally got home from work an hour or so ago opting not to look at the results throughout the whole day & having just watched the highlights I found SS a bit of a mixed bag tbh.Ziggler vs Rollins was by far match of the night for me followed by the women's triple threat (biggest cheer of the night was Beckie turning heel on Charlotte) the AJ/Samoa Joe was pretty good too the rest were just meh.The MITB & Rousey matches were ultimately squash matches,DQ's in ppv matches are cheap,kop-out affairs with no satisfactory ending & expected heel-turns were merely put on the back burner.Move of the night for me was probably AJ hitting the Styles Clash on big lump Joe (who's about 4-5 stone heavier than AJ). I'm seriously over the moon coming top over the course of the year on the wrestling predictions 2017/18 season but thanks to Toonlink,Kingsmind,Bigguy & others for pushing us hard over the course of the year but more importantly to Doddle for running the competition & making it all possible (with a dose of humour as well). Many Thanks. I hope you enjoy it also I can't believe i finished 3rd again (the bronze medal) i thought i had a chance of winning it this season but if i start of well next season i mite have a chance congarts on your victory Jack i will catch you next time don't you worry about that i thought it was easy predicting wrestling results but it shows you never just a wrestling match by it's cover and don't worry Doddle i will enjoy running it and it will be fun i will do my best running it i mite even add a little rule change we will see when the season starts RE: WWE PPV Prediction Thread - ToonLink64 - 20-08-2018 22:05 I just finished watched Summerslam and can't believe I got 12 of the 13 matches right! Damn those cruiserweights! It was nice to do well after doing so crap since Wrestlemania. I know I didn't win, but getting a close 2nd place, and going out on a high for the year, is cool with me. Congrats to Jack the Nipper. I hope you don't celebrate too hard tonight. Getting top spot isn't easy after a full year of predictions and so many matches. Hopefully, everyone will be back predicting for the next year, as this always makes watching the PPVs more fun. Thanks for all the hard work calculating the scores all year long, Doddle. That's dedication, right there! A special mention for my girl Becky showing Charlotte who's boss last night, too. |
