I know we've still got a week to go but here we go anyway!! Wink

Black Eyed Peas, Ham, and Cabbage are considered good luck if you eat them on New's Year Eve or Day because it is believed they will bring you money. eek....I'll take my chances with my celebratory Lamb Kebab.

Lobster and Chicken are considered bad luck because Lobsters can move backwards and Chickens can scratch in reverse, so it's thought these foods could bring a reversal in fortune........OMG, I only type em as I see em Smile.

Finnish people have a weird tradition which goes by the name 'Molybdomancy'. This is all about telling fortunes, a small amount of led is melted in a small pan using a small stove. The melted metal is then thrown into a bowl of cold water. The liquid solidifies and the resulting shape of the solid metal is then analyzed in candle light to tell the fortune of a person in the coming year.

If you'd like to be among the first to welcome the new year, then you'll want to visit the tiny Pacific Island Nation of Kiribati. It's located in the world's earliest time zone, so it's always the first place on Earth to welcome a new year. As for the last place to ring in the coming year?...That title belongs to American Samoa in The South Pacific Ocean.
