Correct. Last time Labour argued that the electorate should be extended to Scots living outside Scotland, but this was ruled out by the Scottish Government on the grounds that the United Nations regards the legitimacy of referendums as dubious if the electorate isn't territorial.

Yes it's an internationally accepted principle that a referendum on the future of a territory should be based on the votes of those who are resident in that territory.

Off course she will, she knows she would lose it is better to have people voting who were not born in Scotland and have only been there 2 minutes. I am just trying to save my nation for going through the whole Darien fiasco again. laugh

Not according to the pollsters. They reckon that last time almost all those who live in Scotland but were not born there voted against independence.

If only those who were both born and live in Scotland had the right to vote last time then the yes to independence campaign may well have won.
