Yes the leverage excuse doesn't work because Schweinsteiger's hand was higher than his head. The test that referees apply these days, of whether the player's arm was in an "unnatural position", seems to be satisfied in this case. Good spot by the referee.

I'm backing the underdog. I'd like to see Portugal upset the French.
Portugal have lost their last 10 matches against France, but I'd like to see one of the smaller countries lift the trophy.

It's a big shame that Ronaldo has had to go off injured. It's going to be hard for Portugal to beat France without him, but let's see, maybe they can still make a good game of it.
