Hard luck England, but I think Italy deserved to go through. Pirlo's penalty was brilliant, I was expecting Balotelli to try something like that

They did well to get to the QFs in a group few expected them to get out of let alone sneak the group win over France.

Better luck next time eh?
are u english?

I'm Scottish and proud of it Big Grin

Currently have no interest in my national team whilst that Speccy four-eyed Jambo Loser who calls himself Craig Levein is manager.

The difference between England and Italy tonight was Pirlo and theres one player England have that comes close to Pirlo and thats Wilshere

In reference to Pirlo- what was Milan thinking?- hearing the commentary apparently they thought he was past it

I'm sorry but if a team can't hang onto a ball for a while and create chances they deserve nothing, after the France game I don't know why young kept starting.

606 tonight was about the most depressing i've heard in a long time.
One or two callers thought Rooney was way past his best and i'm wondering if they were right. I now have my doubts if Rooney is ever likely to be the same player after this tournament. I think the likes of Cole, JT, Lampard, Gerrard have also probably played their last international tournament in a England shirt. We need to start the Qualifiers with a team that can make the world sit up and take notice
and I think we have something in that with the likes of Walcott, and Chsmberlain and such, but I would never want to see Milner in an England shirt again, he just doen't cut it for me.

The difference was the same as in every other tournament I have seen England play i.e their inability to keep the ball. Our most influential player Gerrard and his team mates were reduced to chasing the opposition around the pitch which gave them relatively little opportunity to create any sustained attacking momentum. The work rate and committment was fine but the technique and control was yet again sadly lacking and Italy should have won the match in normal time.
