eden hazard would be a great signing for the blues

RE: Chelsea FC - Phoenix - 21-01-2012 23:37

Hazard would be great, but I doubt it will happen. Especially seeing as we've bid €20m (according to the Shakhtar Chief Exec) for Willian.

Another rumour that seems to have substance is our pursuit of Marseille right-back Cesar Azpilicueta (anything to get rid of Bosingwa! laugh )

Chelsea have confirmed that their players were called in on their day off yesterday for a meeting at their training ground, which was attended by owner Roman Abramovich. Crisis talks presumably?

It looks like things are getting worse:

"André Villas-Boas sparked a blazing row with his Chelsea players on Sunday after calling the squad in on their day off to vent his anger over the 2-0 defeat at Everton. The manager tore into his players, who had pockmarked their display with sloppy errors, but he found that some of them gave back as good as they got. In the blow-up, they told him exactly what they thought of him and his tactics, to lay bare the tensions at the club."

"...and then all hell broke loose resulting in a brawl with Frank smashing a glass bottle over AVB's head" Wink

Gotta take these 'stories" with a barrel of salt. Esepecially seeing as it was The Daily Mail I think that published this originally. The same paper that reported a youth team player at Chelsea brought a knife into the dressing room... Turned out to be one of the builder's tools laugh

There probably was some sort of meeting though, and rightly so, after that shocking performance against Everton.

Yes, fair comment. Still there are more and more stories emerging that Hiddink could return to Chelsea.

RE: Chelsea FC - 7 stars of the orient - 17-02-2012 13:13

News just in: Guus Hiddink has signed an 18 month deal at Anzhi Makhachkala. The appointment puts an end to talk that Hiddink's poised to return to Chelsea to replace under-pressure Andre Villas-Boas.

If Chelsea are beaten by Napoli in the Champions League it will the first time in many years that an English club hasn't made the quarter finals. The odds are tonight's first leg are pretty much the same wherever you look, with Napoli being regarded as having a 48% chance of winning tonight and Chelsea and the draw both on 26%. Speculation is inevitably rife that if Chelsea 'do an Arsenal' and get hammered then Andre Villas-Boas will be on his way. On a stats note, Chelsea have only won once in 7 visits to Italy, and Napoli have played host to English clubs twice already in the last 2 seasons (drew 0-0 with Liverpool last season, beat Man City 2-1 this season).

Heard on Sky Sports tonight....

Jeff Stelling: What did you think of Chelsea's defending?

Graeme Souness: What defending?
