Huh He was 50. Nicklaus was 48 or something. If there were someone in their late 50s, early 60s, they would already have the record and we wouldn't be making a fuss at all.

It seems plausible that someone in the next 5 years (ie up to 2026) could become an older winner (Woods, for example).

Arnold Palmer was still playing in his 80's wasn't he?

Yes, but he didn't win a major in his 80s, did he? We're talking about how old people are when they win their events.

Mickelson won't be defending his title (and trying to extend his record) this week.

Early coverage from 13.00 on Sky Sports Golf. At 14.11 it's the marquee group of Tiger, Rory & Spieth.

deChambeau talked of hoping to be there, but he had to withdraw.

Southern Hills looks like it represents a tough but fair challenge. I am really liking the course set up Smile

Seems weird when they say McIlroy hasn't won a Major since this in 2014.

RE: USPGA - Boomerangutangangbang - 19-05-2022 21:31

In he days leading up to this, Tiger claimed to be feeling fitter/stronger than at the Masters. The back 9 today suggested different, practically playing on one leg, I'm full of admiration, but this was a sad sight, from one so great, & remember, this was self-inflicted.

Windy conditions due all day today making life harder for the players.
A really exacting test. Just the way major golf should be.

Matt Fitzpatrick has stormed into contention in round 3 with a superb round of 67 as other players at the top of the leaderboard have either tailed off or stagnated.
