Graham Onions considered surplus to requirement by England,was released to play in the Durham V Notts match.He drove from Lords to Trent Bridge & replaced Claydon in the afternoon session.He went on to record a career best 9-67 & denied himself the chance of taking all 10 with his direct hit which ran out Luke Fletcher,the 9th wicket to fall.He then clean bowled Andy Carter,Notts 154 All Out.

England will face another tough examination by spin when tour India this winter if todays result is anything to go by.New Zealand forced to follow on lost by an innings & 115 runs.18 wickets falling to spin with Ravi Ashwin taking a career best 12-85.

^ No denying the Kiwi's are a poor side but after getting stuffed by Pakistan I can't see India being any easier.Maybe without KP in our side.

Yeah true, but Pakistan's bowling attack was a lot stronger than India's will be. I personally thought Ajmal's talk of this new ball (which was bollocks in the end) was just head games that England fell for. Against India's bowlers, England would have learnt from the Pakistan mistakes and should be ok, especially since their bowling quality won't be as high.
India's batting should be of more concern, but England's bowling line up is strong one...should be an interesting contest
