RE: scottish footy - jordo - 04-02-2009 22:17 McGregor? Pish! lol! Talk about getting found out in the Premier League.... he wouldn't last 5 minutes. RE: scottish footy - JohnnyChrist - 04-02-2009 22:24 nah i disagree tbh i think he would. i reckon everton will sign him sumtime. or david moyes werever he is at EPL RE: scottish footy - jimbo5030 - 04-02-2009 22:36 ive got to say i think gordon is a great keeper and i think he will prove it in time, if you got the defense that sunderland have in front of you you aint goin to feel confident and u will definately let in goals. if arsene wenger likes a player, he is awesome. because arsene wenger aint wrong. and no i dont support arsenal RE: scottish footy - el3x - 04-02-2009 22:50 MacGregor flaps too much at high crosses to ever be a top level keeper. He puts his defence under too much unnecessary pressure. Gordon has much better reactions than Flappy, is quicker off his line, but his kicking is poorer and he's shit at saving penalties. If anyone doubts Gordon's reflexes and reactions, recall the UEFA cup tie against Sparta Prague a couple of seasons back at Muddyfield - he made a fantastic triple save seen here Wasn't Gordon also awarded Sunderland's POTY award last season - alright Sunderland were crap last year, but I hardly think that means he's been "found out" As for Rearend - he takes the boaby! He was one of the most promising young Scottish players and he pissed his talent up the wall when he moved to Celtic and rotted on the bench (like so many before him!). He's a shadow of his former self at Hibs and in the 2 recent derbies he was completely lost. Scott Brown would do well in EPL at a team like Bolton or Blackburn, where he'd be given a freer role to drive forward, but don't think McGeady would, as at times in the SPL he's a bit lightweight and gets nudged off the ball at times far too easily. RE: scottish footy - jimbo5030 - 04-02-2009 22:57 i dont even think mcgregor is rangers best keeper RE: scottish footy - bree - 05-02-2009 08:49 Derek Riordan is a dick head he has the wrong attitude he like a big kid with no dummy. Berra,Driver,Neilson are all good players Driver a stand out for me i think he will move on in the summer it will be a loss to hearts.. MacGregor and Gordon its a tosh up who the best is Gordon with a better defense in front RE: scottish footy - steven6 - 05-02-2009 14:08 craig gordon is the best british goalkeeper at the moment he is always consistant hardly has a bad game RE: scottish footy - JohnnyChrist - 05-02-2009 18:59 harldy the best british goallie. and derek riordan is a class act what ever u people say. Gordon Strachan took a good young player and went up to heaven, pulled down his weee tartan panties, and shat on riordan from a great height. i hate him for this. destroyed a talent. Strachan is also a shit manager. just my opinion btw homies. dnt belittle me for it thanks RE: scottish footy - bree - 06-02-2009 13:42 Derek Riordan has the wrong attitude to be a top player in my opinion RE: scottish footy - dalebags - 06-02-2009 15:07 I agree with you Bree . Riordan pissed his career at Celtic against th wall. He couldnt knuckle down. Strachan no matter if you love him or loathe him loves players who train hard (same way he was as a player) Riordan is gifted but lazy. He has his level at Hibs and should be left well alone . If he was to knuckle down then mabye he would get a chance at another big club. If he was trying to knuckledown why would he still be trying to get into pubs in Edinburgh when he is banned from them all. I hate all the rubbish about how the old firm ruin it by taking all the best players. This happens in every league everywhere. In Scotland the smaller teams take players from lower teams and if they do well the old firm will try to buy them and then in turn if they do really well then a buyer outside Scotland will come in. Thats what happens in football. It happens in England- Look at Man Utd buying Tevez, Carrick , Berbatov. The money Spurs got from themwas used to buy back Defoe, Keane and Palacios. All from "smaller" teams Look at Man Utd with the Ronaldo stuff over the summer -its the same thing on a grander scale. And as for players coming to rot on the bench. I dont see Gary Caldwel, Barry Robson, Scott Mcdonald, Scott Brown rotting on the bench. Even guys like Hartley get a game quite regularly and they all have medals. |
