I agree, if England lose this match it will give Ukraine control of the group. England therefore need to avoid defeat, that's the priority, as win or draw and England's fate remains in their own hands. RE: England world cup 2014 qualifying campaign - Regenerated - 10-09-2013 14:22 Tough ask tonight. They've shown they can go to massive away games and get a result in previous World Cup qualifiers so they definitely have the ability - it's whether they can bring it together as a team. They should be under no illusions either of how hostile it can be in any Eastern European countries. My two main worries are that Ukraine may have too much pace for England's ageing squad plus our goalkeeper has been suspect in games. Need a heroic and impressive display similar to those seen in away WC qualifiers in Rome (1997 Italy 0-0 England), Stockholm (1989 Sweden 0-0 England) and Germany (2001 Germany 1-5 England). The last thing we want tonight is to wake up tomorrow knowing we face the playoff lottery! I'd think a 2-0 win would be the best we could hope for though it's possible that we catch them on a bad night, since they mauled San Marino 9-0 last Friday. Though a repeat of the defeat like we did Germany in 2001 would be a wild ream against these guys. He was def lucky if he did use his 2 in 1 tonight!! RE: England world cup 2014 qualifying campaign - lovebabes56 - 10-09-2013 19:14 WTf is our defence doing? RE: England world cup 2014 qualifying campaign - lovebabes56 - 10-09-2013 19:35 45 minutes gone, and nothing really good to show for our performance so far. Ukraine are showing that their pace will always be threat so outr back four need to be on their guard in the second half. They have to realise that a draw won't be a good result tonight. RE: England world cup 2014 qualifying campaign - lovebabes56 - 10-09-2013 19:49 I have to say that with each passing minute Rio is beginning to look like a dream for next summer. When are they going to realise they won't can't afford to lose?
