It is a very fine line this treads. To be honest it should be up to the readership of the Sun, Star & Sport. The alternative would effectively amount to a ban and if successful what would come next? If were not careful we could be burning books in the streets. Page 3 isn't amount titillation or getting people off it's about freedom of speech, people have the choice to buy the paper or not - it's not as if it they put the girls on Page one under the banner.

Last time I looked there were plenty of other newspapers to choose from both Right and Left of the political divide so if you not like it - buy something else!

Actually The Sun got into a lot of trouble circa 89/90 for having a 3D picture on the front page .Yes , you could see her nipples .
Think it was Kirsten Imrie ,or someone around that era anyway .

A lot of shops have been forced to top shelf Zoo and Nuts and FHM etc although not exactly pornographic have images which could be deemed offensive to children. The argument is not that the Sun have offensive images but the age old issue that Page Three is demeaning to the female race.

Its a poor argument kids today have access to far more harmful material on their phone in the school playground at 10 and we have to learn to teach our young people to handle these sort of harmless, natural images( page 3) much as they do in continental Europe where this not an issue.

As for the womens rights issue I dont see anyone being manipulated or taken advantage and some have gone to great careers as a result of the opportunity page 3 has provided. The PC brigade are very busy at the moment!!!

Jeremy Clarkson has a very funny article about the page 3 debate in his column in the sun today, I dont agree with a lot of his opinions but I believe he has got it spot on today.

I'm sure there are visitors to this website who are Sun readers and do care that the paper has dropped Page 3. If they haven't done so already, they should think about writing a letter/email of complaint to the editor of The Sun for dropping Page 3. Does The Sun have a readers' complaint procedure? If there is one, and they use it, they should insist that the paper responds to their complaint.

The Sun hasn't dropped Page 3.

They don't feature pictorials in the paper version of The Sun, and reading between the lines (no comments from the current stable of girls, no comment from Page 3 principle photographer, Alison Webster), they don't appear to have commissioned any new shoots, so in time the online version will either also disappear, or become an archive only site.
