The problem wasn't with Real Madrid. Man Utd submitted the necessary documents to the Spanish governing body, but they couldn't open the file. They said Man Utd had sent the documents in a format they couldn't read. Man Utd for their part say that things wouldn't have gone wrong if Real Madrid hadn't left everything to the last day of the transfer window.

I remember when Van Nistliroy first failed a medical with them. Their medical department diagnosed that he was one knock away from a season ending injury. Psv thought it was a try on and took him back. First day of training he went down with a serious season ending injury with minimal contact. I thought wow these boys at Man Utd really know what they are talking about.
After seeing them insist that the team did not need immediate rebuilding after ferguson retired as well as the subsequent over spending I'm really convinced that people there have not got a clue what they are doing. Lucky for them they have rich backers is all I can say. What the hell was Woodward playing at with Dea Gea?

I think the real reason is the Glazers put too much trust in Ed Woodward. He had a reputation as being overly cautious with money before he became CEO. Now he has the power and been given the instruction to spend I think he remains confusingly over cautious if that makes sense. They haggle over two or three million on the likes of Pedro (though not convinced he was right for us tbh) then pay over the odds for the likes of Fellaini and Martial.
Martial looks to have the potential to be world class and is fast and skillful and has an excellent scoring record at under 21 level. Time will tell. Of more immediate concern is the rumour that James Wilson may be sent out on loan for the season as this will leave us with two recognised strikers, though it is also being mentioned that we are trying to bring in Antoine Griezmann from Athletico. Hope this is true, besides being a very creative player he scored 23 goals in the last 30 league games.

For me all the most recent Man Utd buys reek of panic buying. Most of the great Man Utd teams I remember were built on evolution not revolution. I'm amazed Ferguson has not been giving his 2 cents worth, or is he to busy lecturing at Harvard?
