Lunch score 87/4. There's nothing wrong with the pitch, but the ball has done a fair bit under cloudy Cape Town skies this morning.

Another 2 wickets gone and it's 116/6.

After scoring 629 in the first innings England are now struggling to save this test.

At tea England are 155/6
It's a good job that Bairstow and Ali have dug in.

It's now looking like a draw. Especially as the weather is turning bad

Yeah would take an ashes style aussie collapse now with 13 wickets going down to be a winner

No wickets need to fall to get a winner.

England could declare at tea to try to force a victory, but South Africa might knock off the 158 they would require in 37 overs, and possibly without losing a wicket.

Doubt they would do that better take the draw and be 1 up with 2 games to go

The England problems could be substantial going forward.
The bottom line is they dropped too many catches notably off De Villiers when on 5 and a few times off Amla who went on to make a double hundred.
This allowed both to spend time at the crease and build some confidence. The rest of the batting order seemed to flourish on the back of it too and a batting order that looked bereft of confidence in Durban has been let off the hook and allowed to build confidence in Cape Town.
Add to this the possible return of Steyn and Philander for South Africa and the potential for problems seems pretty substantial.
England will now be faced with a full strength bowling unit and a batting order with restored confidence away from home.
South Africa will know all about the England tendency to collapse and with two of their best bowlers returning will feel they can roll England over.
England let South Africa off the hook. They didn't take their opportunities to keep South Africa down.
In the next two tests they could be made to pay a very severe penalty and lose the series.
I have seen switches in momentum like this so many times in sport. I fear the worst for England now Sad.

South Africa captain Hashim Amla has resigned with immediate effect and replaced by AB de Villiers.
