Just looking at Stokes' T2OI bowling record. 5 wickets at an average of over 61, economy rate of over 9. Much better bowler than that. Rashid has flattered to deceive as well. In this tournament England's spinners have conceded runs at almost twice the rate of the New Zealand spinners. But it doesn't work like that. New Zealand players seem to perform better than their technical ability. I think that says a lot about how we view cricketers in this country. As Test players you wouldn't take too many of this NZ XI but Guptill, Anderson, Sodhi, Santner, McClenaghan & Milne would all have a very good case of being in a combined XI for t20s RE: World Twenty20 2016 - Charlemagne - 30-03-2016 15:01 (30-03-2016 14:41 )straw man Wrote:(30-03-2016 14:08 )Charlemagne Wrote: If I had to pick eleven players out of both teams I'd only include Kane Williams amongst the team. That's entirely due to New Zealand playing on tired old wickets. Even my old granny would have spun the ball on them. RE: World Twenty20 2016 - William H Bonney - 30-03-2016 15:16 New Zealand finish on 153/8. Their innings tailed off badly, as England restricted them to only 20 from the last 4 overs. RE: World Twenty20 2016 - cosmonaut - 30-03-2016 15:23 Yes it petered out didn't it, considering they were 89/1 at the halfway mark? But New Zealand have bowled well in every match so far. RE: World Twenty20 2016 - HannahsPet - 30-03-2016 16:37 1 run from the win with 3 overs to spare RE: World Twenty20 2016 - Charlemagne - 30-03-2016 16:38 Comfortable win by England. Even if the captain played around a straight ball RE: World Twenty20 2016 - HannahsPet - 30-03-2016 16:39 England win by 7 wickets !!! RE: World Twenty20 2016 - lovebabes56 - 30-03-2016 18:16 should we prefer either India or the West Indies in final? |
