Ronnie beat Gary Wilson 5-1 to progress to the semi finals but it was a lot closer then the score line suggests. Ronnie had an important slice of luck to win the 2nd and 4th frames, and he won the 5th frame after needing a snooker.

Ronnie will renew his rivalry with Ding Jinhui in Saturday evening's semi final after Ding beat Zhang Anda 5-2

RE: World Grand Prix - Snooks - 19-01-2024 17:05

Right then lads.
I will be expecting eleven 147s in a row in a 6-5 classic. See to it please Mr Ding and Mr O'Sullivan Big Grin.

Judd looked invincible in the first 3 frames but he couldn't maintain it and every frame after that was becoming a scrap. Judd showed how far his tactical game has developed as he completed a 6-2 victory over Cao Yupeng.

RE: World Grand Prix - Doddle - 20-01-2024 14:13

Cao looks about 10 years older than some of his compatriots. Maybe he is, I dunno. But another semi-final showing is part of an impressive season from him.

A performance from the Gods by Ronnie O'Sullivan in thrashing Ding Junhui 6-1 tonight. Snooker at its very very best.
Utterly sensational display.

Started with a century.
Ended with a century.
Four tons in the match.
Sublime.

RE: World Grand Prix - Joannis - 20-01-2024 20:54

It's amazing to think that Ding had a pot success rate of 97% and still took a 6-1 drubbing. He just hardly had an opportunity. Stephen Hendry said Ronnie was playing like he was the youngest man on the tour, and he was right!

Ronnie v Judd tomorrow, I can't wait! Hard to believe the way they've been playing that they haven't played each other in a professional tournament since the 2022 Champion of Champions final

RE: World Grand Prix - Snooks - 21-01-2024 04:59

That has to count as the best display I have seen from any player this season from Ronnie.
He was just absolutely on it.
Potting, cue ball control, safety all on point.
Hard to imagine the game can be played much better than that really.

RE: World Grand Prix - HannahsPet - 21-01-2024 14:15

Ronnie wishes it was still last night down 4 -0 to Trump at the interval

RE: World Grand Prix - HannahsPet - 21-01-2024 15:19

bit of a comback session closes 5-3 to Trump

RE: World Grand Prix - Snooks - 21-01-2024 20:15

From 0-4 down to 6-6.
Game on.
