Seven was back this week As for the episode “Absolute Candor” itself, thought it was very good as it fleshed out more of the events that saw Picard leave StarFleet, introduced a new member of Picard’s crew, a good old space battle and then right at the end....Seven Interesting to see how Picard knows about Seven in future eps RE: Star Trek Picard - KerrAvon - 14-02-2020 13:29 (14-02-2020 01:02 )Rammyrascal Wrote: Interesting to see how Picard knows about Seven in future eps I'm sure Picard and everyone knew about Seven from Voyager returning after presumed missing, must've been big news in Starfleet. The real question is how they appear to know each other personally, judging by the reaction. I hope Narek & Narissa are just brothers/sisters 'in arms' although their names actually suggest real sibling ties, as Narissa's sexual & abusive behaviour rather suggests Cersei/Jamie type incestuous behaviour. The series may be moving a bit slower than some would like but I enjoy seeing the growing dynamic and interaction of the team (and holograms lol), which might get lost when the story really gets going. The impressively played Raffi's "man (Picard) can't even take a guilt trip without a starship" was funny as was Jurati inadvertently being told they're on a "lost cause". The Romulans on the planet have had a rough time since the relocation but I feel a lot the anger towards Picard is misplaced. He may not have checked in on them but he still took them out the supernova blast range. They are still alive because of him, aren't they? As for Picard facing hostility, it would always be that way as he promised to save the Romulans but couldn't save as many as he wanted. He was never going to meet the required expectations of the Romulans unless he saved every single one of them. So yeah the anger is massively misplaced but in keeping with what would happen logically (he also gave up it seems so maybe that plays into it, that it's perceived he didn't try his best). There are also lots of Romulans who probably regard Picard as a hero/saviour (just haven't seen much of that yet) and he he seems to still command the respect of the Qowat Milat as well as Laris and Zhaban. I'm also liking the slow burn, the series has already been renewed so there is no need to rush the story and I like that they are padding out the characters, delighted that Seven has now been introduced, seems that the crew is possibly complete now so maybe the plot will speed up for those who may feel it's a bit too slow. Either way I'm really liking the series and looking forward to where it's going, especially the interaction between Seven and Picard. RE: Star Trek Picard - skully - 20-02-2020 15:47 How many different but the same (those who've been watching know what I mean) emergency holograms do you think we'll see? lol. I'm looking forward to seeing if they go the route some are suggesting regarding The Borg, we don't have an actual origin story for them, so if they do give them one (and it's done right), that could be interesting. The other theory of Romulans actually being artificial lifeforms doesn't work for me, the Borg creation theory makes much more sense, and would explain why they hate artificial lifeforms so much. RE: Star Trek Picard - Rammyrascal - 21-02-2020 00:44 Well that episode “Stardust City Rag” put me through the emotional wringer tonight. Brilliant from start to finish including a fantastic performance from Jeri Ryan RE: Star Trek Picard - *Kal-El* - 21-02-2020 01:01 I wish they had used the original actors from each of shows. |
