^I’ve seen it circulating as an example of what a twat Johnson is. I’m sure we’ll see a lot more over the next few weeks. Todays papers contain more anti Boris stuff.

Yesterday Michael Gove was seen 'running' towards his house and was questioned by a reporter who didn't get much of a reply as to whether he would be running for the leadership-of course he was going to, but as he went up his steps and closed his house door it had No.10 on the front-was this an omen or just an amazing coincidence? You decide! Big Grin

I’m not so sure. Double meaning can be read from that. Especially from the person posting it. As I said it was from 2004 and a Tory to boot. Hardly surprising he’d say what he did. I mean until 2011 that was the standard view, also still is to some despite evidence to the contrary.

I’d be surprised if Boris would be the next MP anyway. Kind of already proven he’s a loose cannon.

I do think Gove could be ideal as PM but DO think any chance of him getting a pro leave cabinet together must be very small and going up against pro Remain opposition and House would be an uphill battle from Day 1, not to mention the WA is not for renegotiation. I think he would suffer even bigger defeats than May with any proposal he could put forward, then we would be back to square one. The only way out is for us - the people - getting the final say NOW and no Deal has to be a option on ballot paper. It has gone on too long for us to even think the MP'S could even agree on anything that would satisfy the EU. May created the impasse with her own sheer bloody mindedness of a deal that was voted down 3 times and with too many red lines that made it virtually impossible. Whether Gove or whoever wins was to unpick as many meaningless of her red lines as possible then they would likely get something through - but at what cost?

^He was an immigration minister who resigned for hiring a cleaner without papers. His peers praised his integrity and he was eventually promoted back to the cabinet as a minister for DWP.

A week after his return to the cabinet the woman was arrested by 15 border security officials at her daughters wedding. Guests at the wedding said that around half the officials took her away in handcuffs and she had marks on her arms where they had grabbed her, the other half pulled the Bride & Groom apart and tried to stop the wedding, telling The Bride that she did not have the proper paperwork which was obviously a lie because the Registrar checked and found that this was not the case and the wedding was allowed to proceed.

It was alleged that several of the officers were not wearing badge numbers and did not tell her where she was being taken. She has alleged that one of the officials leant forward and told her 'We told you we would get you. I was there the last time. I raided your house. We've got you now. You've nowhere to run'." Immigration officials had raided her house earlier and padlocked it so that when she went to get the key form the necessary authorities they would be there waiting for her, on a previous call she had with the Home Office she was told "You're messing with the wrong people."

She was taken to and detained for two weeks at Yarl's Wood Detention Centre, notorious for its appalling conditions dubbed the UK's Guantanamo Bay, eventually she was dragged out of her bed at 12:06 am without warning and deported to Colombia in her pyjamas
