First goal there was a foul on Scottish player in built up, second goal Referee lets Argentina take free kick when Scotland are making a substitution and the keeper was millimetres off her line when penalty was taken and saved and after a minute and a half they decide penalty has to be retaken
Penalty shootouts will be a farce in this competition if these rules are applied

More retaken penalty nonsense (with the Scottish goalkeeper about a millimetre away from being a heroine), but what about the mysterious lack of stoppage time for the lengthy VAR reviews? There should have been several more minutes added on at the end.

Penalties, penalty retakes & shootouts will be a farce overall for football if these rules are applied elsewhere, and I'm surprised that FIFA has allowed this farce to happen in women's football most prestigious competition. The longer this farce goes on, the less interest in the competition there will be from broadcasters. If FIFA want to retain the prestige of this competition, they need to act very quickly and sort this farce out.

I'm wondering if the side issue of Platini's arrest over the Qatar 2022 WC, has been responsible and/or preventing FIFA from making any official comment on the penalties fiasco or have I missed something completely?

We always are and we moan for a day or so and the get on with it maybe thats because we always qualify for another tournament

In all the comment about VAR and penalties I've not seen much comment about the fact that in each case the goalkeeper has been booked for stepping off the line. If you think about that 2 offences and they will be sent off. In a penalty shootout you risk running out of keepers. Booking them seems like a double punishment to me when simply ordering the penalty to be retaken would be sufficient.
