^^ i saw the morning session on days 3 & 4 at Taunton the pitch was to good to get a result, nice pace and contestant bounce you could leave the ball all day knowing it would always bounce over the stumps,
we really need some dry weather to get out pitch turning if we are to win anything this year,

RE: County Championship 2021 - Boomerangutangangbang - 08-07-2021 17:28

^^ Back to the Taunton wickets of old, next to the Oval it was the best batting track in the country, but really hard to force a result.
Leicestershire's keeper made with 171 not out, In in the first innings, Somerset fell from a comfortable 143-0, (Devon Conway having a rare failure making only 88) Wink to 224-7, before 8,9 & 10 all made 70's. Leicestershire don't possess the best bowling attack, but it's still a fair indication of a flat wicket.

Performance of the week has to go to Jimmy Anderson as he reached 1000 first-class wickets, when Heino Kuhn edged a trademark outswinger through to the keeper, on his way to his best innings bowling performance for Lancashire (7-19). His figures where 7-5-3-5 at the point of reaching the milestone. It was his 51st 5 wicket haul. Anderson became the 216th player to reach 1000 first-class wickets, the last bowler was Andy Caddick in 2005

Notable mentions for Dom Bess, with 7-43.
