This year's Hundred got off the an uneventful start, with both the men's & women's games producing large margins of victory for the Oval Invincibles over the Birmingham Phoenix in both cases.

After 4 games, not a hint of a close match. If my memory serves me well, last year was similar.
As for tonight, London Spirit posted a modest 127-7, but Birmingham Phoenix started badly after 23 balls they are 20-4.
EDIT : Finally a close match, Birmingham sealed the victory with just one ball remaining, with the scores level Benny Howell hit a boundary as they made 131-7.

A thrilling match at Old Trafford saw Northern Superchargers beat Manchester Originals by 7 wickets with 3 balls to spare. The standout innings from Salt & Pooran.
Sadly Stokes retired hurt after running a quick single with what appeared to be a hamstring injury.

Oval Invincibles posted the highest total in The Hundred when the home side scored 226-4 in a convincing 83 run win against Welsh Fire.
The previous best was 208-5 made by Manchester Originals against Northern Superchargers at Leeds in 2022, these 2 teams have 2 each of the 5 200+ scores.
Jordan Cox hit 86 from 29 balls including 10 sixes. In all there were 18 fours & 17 sixes in the innings. The match total of 25 sixes is also a record.

Rocky Flintoff has picked up a mystery injury for the Northern Super Chargers despite not playing a single game, he was a Wildcard pick & his dad is the coach.
Yorkshire's Matt Revis is one of the form batsmen in the country & has been drafted in. I hope he doesn't have to sit & watch as Yorkshire are going well in the One Day Cup, he's irreplaceable.
He has a better chance of a game than Rocky did, I suspect.

Must admit I'm very happy for Kate Cross. Having suffered the misery of not being picked in the England World Cup squad she has responded well in The Hundred and helped her Northern Superchargers win the trophy.
